I'll put myself up as someone who has NOT had success. See http://www.myfxbook.com/members/beren/autotrade-live/671641 . I've tried to be conservative with the accounts I follow, using at least the following criteria:- At least 3 calendar months on AutoTrade, followed in a demo account.- Positive returns in demo account- 3, 6, and 12 month return greater than drawdown- Positive returns over the previous month.- No periods of large and sustained open drawdowns (this one I added later)I then use a calculation based on the leverage, returns, and drawdown of the account compared to other...

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I think maybe you're looking at the demo account and seeing XAUUSD being traded in one lot increments. I have a demo account and a live account, each with approximately the same amount of money. The last XAUUSD trade on the demo account traded 1.00 lots, and the live account (Pepperstone) traded 0.01 lots. I think the demo account just trades XAUUSD in 1.0 lot increments, but that doesn't mean your live account will do the same thing.

I meant that between the time when I noticed Stable Growth Strategy was no longer listed on Autotrade to the time when I wrote that message, there had been no trades opened or closed on Stable Growth Strategy. Therefore, I was unable to tell whether trades on that system were still being copied to my account or not. I discovered later that they were.

Well, it's gone now. What a blood bath. I added it to my live account in December as I was trying to diversify. Now I sure wish I hadn't. That decision cost me 35%.

Does anyone know what's going on on AutoTrade today with Stable Growth Strategy and Soliton Falcon? Neither system has been removed from my AutoTrade accounts, but neither system is available on AutoTrade. I presume this is a step before the systems being removed entirely, but I'm just not sure if these systems are still being traded or not on my existing accounts.I'm not so concerned about Soliton Falcon as it's only on a demo, but I'm trading Stable Growth Strategy live and I'd like to know what's going on there as I have Real Money on the line. My last account...

I'd love a discussion place for those of us who are using Autotrade live. I don't personally mind if non-live users are able to read the discussion, maybe, but mostly it would be good for those of us who are trying to make a go of it to have a place to talk about our successes and failures. My live Autotrade account is public for now, but maybe if we made a closed group, those of us with live accounts might be willing to share our account details and setups with other live account users.@Staff: if others want something like this, could Myfxbook set something like that up? First thou...

I think we're saying the same thing. I originally forgot an "Although" at the beginning of that sentence, so maybe my meaning wasn't clear. I've edited it in.

This is not really a response for Bob, but for all the rest of you who are reading this and don't quite know what to make of this argument. You're reading Bob's comments and everyone else's, and you're maybe a bit confused. You're hopeful that a martingale might help you make money, or recover money you've lost, and that's something we all want. Although it doesn't appear that Bob is open to opinions contrary to his own, maybe others here are.I'm not going to resort to ad hominem attacks to make my point, but simply make an appeal to your sense of reas...

In (weak) defence of Stable Growth Strategy, the 56.97% drawdown occurred on 2013-06-27. This system was not added to AutoTrade until 2013-09. Furthermore, the drawdown calculations seem to have changed for this system in the last couple weeks. The drawdown shown was not nearly this high until after the mini crash late last month.

I was tired of being subscribed to this thread when you responded to me a few pages back, and I'm even more tired now. However, in a possibly futile attempt to clear some of the fog in here, I'm going to try to explain my point again. You're right that conceptually, the market does have a memory. It has a memory of *aggregate events*, made up of the aggregate memories of human traders and the calculated values of algorithms. However, the market does NOT have a memory of YOUR trade. We are not in a discussion here of fibonacci numbers or resistance points. We are discussing mart...

Hi Russ. I only put USD1000 into my AutoTrade account to start with. Also, the three systems I'm running live all have at least 16 months of verified live trading history. I also am not trying to be "wise" on this forum; rather, I hope we can all become a little wiser by sharing with each other what we've learned. If you're buying, say, Gold when it dips, that's one thing. Trading Stable Growth Strategy on a dip is a completely different concept and can't be compared. If you're following XAUUSD, EURUSD, or whatever, and you see an opportunity to buy/sell, ...

Russ, "buy the dips" applies to buying financial instruments where the value is determined by market consensus. For example, in the stock market or futures market, it is buyers and sellers who together determine the price. Therefore, if the price of an asset or equity dips, it MAY be a good time to buy, if you believe the fundamentals are sound. This does not apply at all to a trading strategy, as there is no underlying price or value to a "share" or "unit" within Stable Growth Strategy. It's one person's (I think) performance of trading foreign exchange...

Imagine this unfortunately realistic scenario: a would-be provider opens 5 live micro accounts with different trading parameters. After 3 months, 4 of them have bombed terribly, but one has a nice-looking curve with seemingly excellent results. They hook that up to Myfxbook and apply to become an Autotrade provider. They are accepted.Sure, this person has 3 months of live trading history, and the system LOOKS good, but what you can see isn't telling the whole story. In reality, this system is just like all the other ones that have margined out, but the strategy was just the one that wa...

There's a long list of providers that come onto AutoTrade strong, flared out immediately, and then are pulled. Almost of all of these are pulled within the first month.I've personally decided I'm not going to add a system to my live AutoTrade account until I've seen forward performance for at least 3 months in a demo account. I pretty much ignore it for the first month, because I know that most of the ones that look good when they are added have peaked and will never perform like that again. If you're chasing a quick $, you'll be adding these new and unproven systems...

I asked them about that when Soliton Falcon first came out. I see their discussion page is no longer linked from the system page, but you can see their response at http://www.myfxbook.com/community/trading-systems/soliton-falcon/550494,1 .

You wrote me on October 2 and told me that "AutoTrade is tries to re-sync the trades every 10 minutes" [sic]. I said 15 minutes in my last post, but that was my bad memory. In this email, you mentioned that the dev team had adjusted this parameter down to 5 minutes. It sounds like you’ve taken it further down to 3, which is a lot better than the 10 minutes which cost me a 15% gain trade earlier this month where the trade was in “positive slippage” territory for about 8 minutes. As I mentioned in my response to you, offering adjustable slippage per provider would b...

Here's mine: http://www.myfxbook.com/members/beren/autotrade-live/671641As you can see, I haven't had great results yet. I'm following StanOK, WallStreet Forex Robot EUR33+GBP30 REAL, and WallStreet Forex Robot REAL. Partially the problem is that they haven't been doing very well this month, but I also missed out on one big trade with StanOK that would have given me 12-15%. I missed the original trade due to slippage, but the trade was negative for the next 3-5 minutes before shooting off to a huge win. Ethan mentioned to me afterwards that they only retry trades every 15 m...

For the purpose of my post, I'll simply define a Martingale strategy as increasing one's lot size after a losing trade in an attempt to "make up" the losses. In my opinion, this is a bad idea. The market does not "know" about your last trade. In other words, whether you won or lost your last trade, whether it was 0.5 lots or 2.5 lots, whether you made 20 pips or lost 100 pips, has no bearing on whether you will win or lose your next trade. Since this information is unrelated to the trade you are about to place, why are you using it as part of your decision making?...
