From my experience, which sounds very similar to yours, robots aren't as good as discretionary. I also continue to try out robots and they continue to hammer the balance. For me, this happened to a demo and to a live account. Shame on me!!My main account is all discretionary as well. I've tried forex robot and just found it instantly goes into drawdown, I'm not a fan of that. The code is very nice though, great programming! Real money testing takes everything into account, including the huge drawdowns we see with most robots. If only a robot could figure out where to place th...

Getting back on track with this one. I'm waiting for set-ups that have a high probability on the 4 hour and sinking large lot sizes into them with stops in place that wont wipe me out. A bit of an experimental twist on my normal trading, same thing with higher %account risk at stake per trade.

Not many set-ups for me lately. Also, I have been busy with something, I won't trade if I can't tend to the trades and monitor them, I don't trust MT4 that much. There are some set-ups that could trigger this week.

This is an example of letting an EA trade for you. The EA has been trashed and I am now manually trading to get the balance back to break even. So much for robots.

Today is April 9, 2012.The beginning draw down on this demo is from using EA's.The big run up in account balance is my manual trading.Today I put Scoob's Forex Robot on. I'm expecting draw down again, then perhaps followed by profit.If you look at the draw down on my manual trading you will see there was hardly any, which means I was picking turning points (tops and bottoms) ....and yes it is possible.This is a new version of his EA, he had it removed from stevehopwoodforex a while back, not sure why. I agree with you, a bit spicy. One approach though is to use it on your smaller account, so if it blows up no harm done. I wouldn't use this on my main account, 78% is way past my pain tolerance.I know one guy runs risky EA's on small accounts and uses the profits to enrich his larger account. I find my manual trading is getting better, so yet another approach is to let TB open trades then manage them as you go, but you still need some talent to do that I think. Good luck with the experiment. Do you use TB live with EUR shut off?

Apart from the odd trade to test my new EA, its now running by itself. These results will be skewed as this account is more to look for bugs than anything else. I also practice trade on this, that where the huge profit comes from, no kidding.

I don't like Oanda at for MT4. They might be OK for other platforms, but MT4 SUCKS. You can't use magic number, you can't use trade comments, WTF? As soon as my other broker accounts are open, bye bye big O.

Terrible MT4 platform. Oanda does not let you use the comment field OR the magic number fie4ld for your EA's. Bye bye Oanda, you suck.
