Trust me, VERY FEW traders ever withdraws any profits from an account in this game. Lets face it, when any profit returns to the bank account, it is liable for tax, and who wants to pay tax?

... anytime I see anyone pumping a scalping strategy, I have to wonder if that pumper is actually an employee of a broker.

A position trader pay the broker once per trade... and that's every week or so.A scalper pays a broker once per trade also... and that's 3 to 6 or more times a day.

My trading is changing, and I'm attempting to overcome my inadequacies in money management. I was always a position/swing trader, not looking at charts lower than 1 hour, trading small lot sizes( 0.2% of equity) without a stop, however the most I could make was about 5% a month, but due to not using stops, about every 18 months I'd wipe out the account (things like London bombings, 911 and GFC when combined with no stops)So I decided to train myself to always place a stop on entering a trade, but this proved disastrous. So about 9 months ago I started using 15m and 5m charts to fine tu...

Hi Remus, it's interesting to see you active again in your thread. You started the thread over 18 months ago, yet you are still looking for an accounts manager. Is this true or are you adding new managers to separate accounts (a form of averaging your trades). If so, it is an interesting concept. In much the same way that a trader uses several strategies - say scalping, swing and position trades - to average out the ups and downs in a month. You may be using 3 or 4 different types of traders to manage accounts and so average out the ups and downs of a single account.I like it.

Traders use all sorts of ways to measure degrees of success or failure, however there is only one true measurement that covers all bases, % of account balance and/or equity. Pip number is totally irrelevant because it depends on the amount of equity risked on entering the trade. Stops need to be factored in too, because a trader using no stops is risking 100% of his account, regardless of no of pips or amount invested in the trade. So, the ONLY thing to look at really is % of account at risk.

My comment on requirements to be a manager were aimed towards Wlk1 rather than yourself, but point taken.I agree that a lot of investors just don't have the time to learn trading, and thsat's why they search out managers/hedge funds etc. You are stepping into a minefield in searching publically for a manager, as you well know. Unfortunately a lot of naive gullible investors trust anyone that spins a rosy picture, anf these investors are bound to pay expensive due's in their accululation of experience in this game.

A client should have parameters he likes to see a fund manager roughly adhere to, however, they should not be cast iron, died in wool absolutes... to do so would definately put the manager under unnecessary stress, leading to mistakes most likely. In my experience a trader does best when he has zero (or near to it) emotional involvement in his trading. Placing STRICT limits on the trader DOES increase the traders emotional involvement.Trade parameters should be a 2 way street between the client and manager (trader).

So this thread is your fault.Best of luck finding anyone with 2 year history live trading that ALWAYS uses stops (hopefully meaning low risk)Australian brokers must offer segregated accounts to protect clients funds from attack by creditors in the event the broker goes bust.

BINGO... the reason they use EA's is because they simply can't trade, and are too lazy to put in the time to learn. Trading is simple, but not easy... blind Freddie can make stab in the dark trades and 50% of them will go into a position of profit (that's simple), however it takes several years at least, for most traders to understand good money management and get control of their emotions (that's not easy).

... they won't of course, because their real accounts history will show that they are either simply copying someone elses trades, or are using stupid money management techniques that cover up their inadequacies... no stops, martingale etc

... and before he gets his lazy a** out of the sack to reply, I will add that I'm NOT a brilliant trader, and have never claimed to be one, however my sad FXBook LIVE account is a manually trader account, and has been operating for 3 months. When Aragorm and other spammers like him can show a LIVE account with a decent track record over 6 moths or more, to back up their stupid claims, I'll take my hat off to them.
