Yes, when I started to use this methods in the spot currencies market I did that, I used like a kind of filter, you see, sometimes one broker will show a volume spike and other broker don't, then you filter looking thru different brokers as you said and see what the majority of them are showing, its good to start using volume in that way, another way would be looking at the futures volume of the currency that you are analyzing (in futures you have real exchange traded volume).Any of those mentioned methods are nice and good, it just depends of you. I prefer to pay monthly for the eSignal d...

There is no traded volume in spot forex, no one can know what is the exactly amount of the lots traded in a pair at any given time. In spot forex you can use tick volume instead. Tick volume measures the changes in price. In this way, tick volume gives you the amount of activity within a time period, this activity means nothing by itself BUT when you look at what price did on that activity it can tell you ALOT of what is happening and how the relationship between supply and demand is playing out.Now the problem becomes the data feed, this is why you should find a good, reliable, ECN broker tha...

Volume spread analysis and Wyckoff theories are some methods to understand how markets works. Rarely this methods are used by forex traders because theres a mith that nobody can use volume in forex, however, that is not 100% true.

Thanks for the good hopes my friend.Yes, I think I can do it. I need to think possitive and I know my goal is not very realistic, but high goals are good for me, it keeps me motivated enough to keep going on. Time will tell. I agree with what you said about the 100k account and 2-3% per month, I believe that the bigger the account the less leverage will be needed to make some money.Nice video man, thanks for sharing. The guy from Million Dollar traders said in part 3 or 4 "Trading is not for income, every professional trader knows that, that's why they charge a management fee, so they...

@felotus Its been a nice pair of conversations, really appreciate your thoughts.Yes the game has evolved into a much more complex thing. High frequency trading has taken over the markets. But I do belive manipulation is still going on, and always will be. Its not something new, its been the business of many men over more than 100 years. Why do you think it is harder for a hedge fund to be profitable over the long run in spot currency markets?Regards.

Ah, I often call this "real world" traders "institutional traders", those who move the markets (hedge funds, banks, big money traders, trading syndicates, pools, etc. Yes, you are right, in that business (the "managment of others people's money business") you will be trading 10 or 20M from your clients and the drawdown allowed would be much less than 4% a year. But for the average retail trader that kind of money is just way out of our league (unless you star a fund). We retail traders are just trading our hard earned money the best way we know. I think that ...

So in your point of view, the past success does not mean anything? I don't agree with you, Jesse Livermore was one of the greatest traders of all times, making and LOSING millions (in today's money that would be BILLIONS) and all that trading his own money. And Livermore is just an example, there are tons of traders from the "old times" who were really succesfull, I don't see the point in making an statement like "That was quite a long time ago", well, yes, it was long time ago, does that mean that doesn't count? hmm..But going even deeper in the subject, fo...

"The speculator is not an investor, his goal is not to secure a steady return on his money at a good rate of interest, but to profit bye either a rise or a fall in the price of whatever he may be speculating in." - Jesse Livermore

Thinking more in deep about all this, I belive the "losers rate" is too high because of all the misinformation, bad broker's data feed and all of their maneuvers like stop hunting, trading against you, fading the price, etc. I also belive that nowadays its so easy for anyone who knows nothing about speculation to open a tiny account with one of those brokers (more like bucket shopes to me) and start trading on whatever they like. Just my opinion of course.

Hmmm interesting conversation, I think that although the fx markets are a little more complicated there are hedge funds making money in it, a major example would be the Quantum fund and the story about George Soros "breaking" the Bank of England. In my humble opinion, if speculation in currency markets were "bad business" there would not be so many hedge funds that invest in this markets. What do you think?
Do you think 1000% a year is sufficient ? What is your performance ?

In my opinion, if you are profitable over the years (just profitable: 5% per month, 2% per month, etc) it means that you are doing good and are a good trader. Then you can open a small account and trade it very aggresive, risking more capital. What do you guys think?

What broker do you use? I've heard similar things about some brokers too, but never been that good of a trader myself to check it out for myself, lol.

Hello guys, I want to know what are your thoughts on the manipulation topic and what do you do to profit from it?Me myself I've been testing volume spread analysis/wyckoff principles in forex for over 6 months now (of course with a demo account first). And my conclusion so far is that you CAN use tick volume to spot the footprints of the "smart money" (I prefer the use of the term "composite operator" as Wyckoff called them). All you need is a good and reliable data feed (eSignal may be the better of all, or so I've heard).Currently im testing the data feed from IC ...
