That's good that you have got enough funds to trade. $100 000 is definitely enough. I am working on psychological, read patience part of my trading. To trade only best set ups and increase my hit rate and pip count. Then, I think I will be able to risk more per trade. I need another 5-6 months of consistently good results to consider myself ready. Most important patience.at the end of September it will be 3 years I am trading. Only 4 months while I studied oil were traded on demo. Before I always traded live as I am doing now. I think 5% monthly on average is pretty good goal and results. ...

BTW, how much trader should have in funds to be able to open this kind of trades considering maximum 1% risk per trade?

It's the minimum to start with. Anyone gotta start from something. The most important is to trade well. The rest will come. I do not care about those lifestyles you mentioned. Obviously more would be better. But it is pointless to argue as I do not have the said amount . So, I will concentrate on my trading to get to the level where I will at the end manage $10 millions. this is my final goal and to make 30-50% annually consistently for my investors.

trader757, considering that I am looking at 5% monthly average and if I can do it consistently I would say with my own funds it might be at least $100 000, if it is OPM funds it would depends upon manager fee, as I understand it is between 25-40% monthly from monthly gain, so, I guess it should be $300-500 000 of OPM to start with to be able to quit job and start trading full time.Trading is a waiting game so, with broken trading schedule a lot of low risk trades might be missed. Full time trading allows to look for this trades without break.

That's interesting. I will ask them about if it is possible to do rebates with already registered and opened account. If no, at least it might be possible for the future as they do have FXPrimus on their list.BTW, I remember your nick and remember talking to you but that was quite a while. Do you have your own thread?I think you can choose something one and concentrate on it. When you learn just one instrument you tend to know it thoroughly and your trading might take off much faster and results can be better. I used to trade the whole lot of of currency pairs but never knew one in details...

Hi iwillsurvive, well come back.I have ECN spread. It is not however what was advertised on Demo. There I had 3 pips spread +1 pip fee, on live I have 4 pips spread +1 pip fee.Otherwise fine.Fixed was 5 pips on Demo, but I saw Fixed got increased to 6 pips also on Demo so I have no idea what they have now.Variable when i tried it on Demo always was same as Fixed so I see no difference. When i traded Demo I always could open minimum size position of $0.01 = 10 cents. This is the minimum position everywhere on Demo but I am not sure about Live as have only traded ECN spread account. Regarding yo...

Just see Eur/Usd. the pair has been in range for a very long time. Great time to trade with no stops until market breaks out, mistake in choosing direction, no stops and hence big and fat tail starts growing bringing down the whole account. same with trend following guys. Market can change any time.

Yes, I understand what you mean. Tried to participate in one of those threads in FF last year fall/ winter. The guys still learning while being in the market longer than I am and still looking for some Holy Grail system. While system works the thread is active and new guys sing accolades. When it doe snot, it's quite. As the system is trend following one and few pairs are trending they feel good but once range sets and it will happen bye bye hard earn money. while good day traders can make money in all market conditions.

Yes, but it took years of trading and practice. I think technically day trading is the second hardest style after scalping but most newbies start exactly with scalping. It is easier for starters to trade longer term than intra day as stops are wider and market is more forgiving.

I was away and just checked. I would have only taken that short trade I was discussing on my thread. The rest is either against my method or volatility is a way too much like stops of 120 pips make no sense.

Yes, volatility a way too much for small accounts unless that account is with oanda. I like trading it this way but prefer to bag some pips and stop. Generally it is preferable to wait until real good opportunity presents itself. Those who trade long enough can distinguish by that time.

That's it. Breaking trend line. if it does not hold and I would say probability is high it might have a big drop.

gut feeling says say now there might be a drop!I actually have all set up for short trades too. have the whole damn plan long or short on my screen. looks kind of spider web where I am sitting. But will be just watching. consistency is a key and no sense to get greedy. Week is done, now, where is my Martini 😁

Since it is my last day for a week. made a quicky and closed for about 40 pips. unfortunately I entered 20 pips better but closed it at BE, got too spooky then had to reenter at worse price. was very patient. i missed that short entry by 3 candles. came too late to PC and waited until I saw what I wanted to see. I think my long trade has much better potential, but as it is the week end, I would pick whatever and call it a week. 0.31% today. Next week I will keep working on patience and yes, I will be looking for more pips. want to reduce trade numbers and improve my hit rate.
