This looks interesting. What would be worst case scenario since no s/l is used? Do you have a mental stop loss in place?

If necessary I would use it, but I seldom get a stop loss.

This is really aggressive trading. Do you use the same position sizing for managed accounts?

Hi Steve,

Any idea why this shows drawdown although there haven't been any losing trades ? Has it got anything to do with the withdrawals by any chance ? I remember seeing someone else's also with the same kind of thing (ie: drawdown with no losing trades) and couldn't figure out how and why. It doesn't even use a custom-date filter. Is it a bug ?

It's certainly not showing the highest drawdown on the equity. At least that's not how I remember it being shown on myfxbook earlier ? The reason I mentioned withdrawals.. was to ascertain whether or not there is a bug here. Since there are no losing trades, the only other explanation would be to assume that it's showing drawdown on equity... but myfxbook wasn't using 'drawdown' to show the drawdown based on equity but on losing trades earlier.... if I'm not mistaken. Hence my question. I perfectly understand what drawdown is. 😉

drawdown has not much to do with equity. as you see equity is in + right now.

drawdown shows the highest draw down of an account. what is so hard to understand with that?
so you can assume equity must have been 100% - 37,37% once
this figure wont change, only if equity falls below that again.
it has always been like that.

Well then this obviously isn't working correctly. Take my account for example. You see the little dip in my equity curve ? But my drawdown says 0.0% .

I exchanged PM's with another user a couple days ago whose account showed more than 100% drawdown due to some bug which he reported to myfxbook. It had been ok for a while after that but it happened again apparently.

yes your right, there are some bugs on the site. i even recognized it isnt counting units/lots exactly.
you got it right, you should have had some drawdown figure too. its not possible to trade without drawdown.

Actually I was also right in my first post about DD being calculated using the balance... ie: closed trades.

Check this out :

Am I still a clown ? 😀

well the problem was that i got it like you didnt know what drawdown actually is, however you see a clear equity drop in his account(ND Finance) too. i really dont care if you know it or not, it just seemed very odd to see someone offering managed accounts and not know what drawdown means. i think you can understand that.

yeah then it's a bug.... drawdown calculation shouldn't be affected by your withdrawals. Only your balance-curve should be affected by it. Anyway I think they're still working on this issue.

Hi Ranesh,
I'm not 100% sure how MyFxBook are calculating drawdown as I've seen some inconsistencies in how it does it myself. I'll ask them.
