As for the book, I didn't mention it once here, all you. Everyone is a critic. Got used to that years ago....now as this is an fx forum and not a book circle try keep to the relevant subject.All I'll say about that is that being published was a particularly nice milestone in my life. That's all you need to know.

Why would I need to understand margin calls? Coded portfolio's aren't allowed close to them. Stop them out wayyyyyyy before there is any chance of a margin call. Last one I had was a few years ago, don't pay much attention to them I'm afraid.
Where can I get my own wall?!

Don't quite know how they margin call an account that's up 37% and end up on 30%...not like I was losing my account. Douche bags. Spoiled my DD...On O similar trade sizes gives my margin call at 25% of the account, so I need to lose 75% of my account before a margin call, these guys took it on 10%....And all it was, is trade sizes, using to much margin without a corresponding loss. So that 50:1 is meaningless, I don't have access to it.

I've moved, don't harass those poor people.I have no control over matters related to the book. IBFX, it was a margin call. New fan dangled margin rules. I went a bit heavy this morning. To heavy. Unlce Sam stepped in to protect me against myself. Of course if they just left it I'd be up a few extra percent.

O can try their luck, we're not beholden to one set of parameters or circumstances. I'll make my trades random, see how they cope with that. Drive some poor programmer nuts while he tries to figure it out. But I don't believe O is stop hunting or anything else. I'm happy with them and will build a business around them. And I must say, I don't really believe 98% of these "the broker did me in stories". If I see the level of skill out there, just shocking. I mean if I had a HFT system and they started doing stuff like that I'd just put in a delay and a random on...

I have systems that will put down up to 20 000 to 40 000 trades per pair per day on 0.For every 1 trade you can do on a standard account on MT you can do 1000 on Oanda, and it's not linear, the change is exponential as there is more opportunities for a $2 change on O than there is to do a $2000 on MT4.I'll go as far to say as anybody who takes fx serious enough to become a professional fund manager will ditch MT4 as it is inadequate for the task. I'd rather spend the $850 get the right tool for the job.

This is manual. No algo's here. Hence why all the trades are together. This is when I walk past my computer. Adjust both and carry on with life. I always have both as that does mean I am at least partially hedged. The API stuff is far more sophisticated. I just can't do that volume of work. I don't look at DD on trades as such as only the NAV values matter. Not worried about the rest. I'm a positional trader, just work with the overall portfolio. The percentage banked is most probably me, cause I'm not going to bank if it's isn't worth it, and 1% looks worth it to ...

Mmmm...Fx has 4 market states. Trend slow, trend fast, range slow, range fast. Takes a while to see all of them. Look at Nov/Dec 2008 (weekly be good) on EurUsd vs. everything else since then. That was the last real fast trend in 3 years. How would you have fared in that ? My view is it takes abut 5 years fx trading to see everything, so any system has a 5 year test period as far as I'm concerned. Few months doesn't mean much.
