Just bagged $500/50 pips on my Signal account......relief since the past 2 trades were losers (though I was sleeping during the USD/CHF and could've bagged 50 pips had I been awake!) 😁

No, this is not a forex competition, even though it was advertised as such. Heck, FXCM is a FOREX broker. Their name stands for Forex Capital Markets. But noooooo just because FXCM is a forex broker and just because My"FX"Book is a website just for forex, and just because 95% of the people here have NEVER traded index-- doesn't mean that this is a forex contest 😉 Muahahahahaha! 😇 😇 😇 😇 😇But mydad is right.....Jason from FXCM said that any instrument on the platform was game. I just wish I had known all this BEFORE the contest starte...

If you increase the lot size then you would need to decrease your stop loss.Leverage just tells you by how much you can increase the lot size.Example: My balance is $2,000. I have 1:50 leverage on my account, which means the most I can trade is 100,000 units (1 standard lot). But I never trade that because it is too risky, I would blow the account in no time.So if I wanted to use a larger position without risking any more than my usual 2%, I would decrease the stop loss. A 40 pip stop loss means I can buy/sell 10,000 units (0.10). If I cut the stop loss to 20 pips then I can buy/sell 20,000 un...

I think the main issue is that the majority of contest participants were (mis)led to believe that this was a forex trading contest. Indexes are not forex. Commodities are not forex. Gold/silver are considered forex, though IMO I think they should be separate. Come July 15th you won't be able to leverage them in the U.S.There is a volatility difference between trading indexes and currencies-- with the indexes you have more access to information (since the world is primarily stock-oriented)....you can then max out your positions, hold them between an hour (sometimes less) and a couple days, ...

Your worthless contribution to this thread is appreciated.Talking about egos.....almost every one of your posts are some of the most narcissistic nonsense I've ever read.Sociopaths, as you claim you are, rank highest in narcissism. Narcissists do not succeed in this world. No wonder your partner ripped you off, I hope it taught you a lesson.Good evening sir.

OK, yeah I would say that you are quite under-capitalized. Unless you have extremely large leverage (i.e. 1:500) it will be difficult to grow the balance. But you can still practice, you can start out trading 1,000 units (0.01) with 25 pip SL and 50 pip TP. Of course, it will take 30 winning trades to double your balance, but your risk is significantly small. Even if you lost 30 trades in a row (highly unlikely!) you would still have 40% of your balance remaining. The important thing is to learn self-control and money management. If you're losing lots of money now, then more than likely yo...

Negative 619 dollars drawdown?? 😲That's trading quite dangerously, and now that you mention it, taking just $300 profit doesn't show much of a good R/R ratio. The most floating equity drawdown I have ever experienced is -$200, and it was well worth the $800 profit I got for waiting it out. At least make it worth the risk and time, man.Edit: Why blocked? Hit a nerve did we?

If you lost a "big heap," then you should probably reexamine your money management strategy. On my signal account I risk no more than 3% and on my personal real account I risk no more than 2%, winners target 4-6% per trade. Because of my MM strategy even if I only win 3 trades and then lose 5 in a row (which I have!) I can still remain profitable. When I started out in forex I would risk upwards of 5%-10% per trade and despite winning big at times, it didn't take long before I finally got wiped out. You have to realize the possibility of losing 10 trades in a row. If you risk just...

Yes EUR/USD will likely continue fall. Price rejected at major 61.8% Fibonacci level on broader scale. I had Sell Limit orders open on my signal account but they were never hit. Will be looking to sell rallies, that is also consensus on IFR feed.

Dammit, this is what happens when I decide to sleep through the European session. Price went halfway to target, which I would've gladly took profits with, but instead retreated and hit my stop loss. fml

Now that your math is wrapped down tight, why don't you start a new account? We understand you want us to see your losses and that you have nothing to hide but say a few months from now, won't it be difficult for you to do more long-term profit calculations and equity curve stuff with all that "noise" at the start of your account? On one of my accounts I started out trading incredibly horrible and inconsistently and after finally "breaking through," I moved everything into a new account to get a fresh start. In no way was this a boost to my ego because I knew I would ...

Yes, Jason with FXCM confirmed earlier today.I really see no sense of a forex trading competition when there are CFDs involved (considering many brokers don't even offer them), but whatever. lol

Funny......had I not moved my SL to break-even on a Euro trade, I would be in top 10 today. And I was going to hang onto the trade as the uptrend reversal occurred (note rejection at key Fibonacci level!) and cash out at the end of the month. But now that I learn we can trade gold, oil, indexes and all else, I'm just like **** it. I don't stand a chance when you bring foreign indices into the mix. 😑So now I will just be gambling my money away 😝 with the contest account and instead focusing on my real-life forex. Maybe make as much as the prize would've been! 😎...

$300 in 1 day......not bad........You mentioned on another thread that you use an overlay system.....based on two physics theories....Please elaborate. Is this something based primarily on mathematical calculations or simply price action?

I know right? 😐 The top people seem to have got there by things other than currencies.....look at current #1.....I think a lot of rules were not clarified as they should have been. What good is it to have a Forex trading competition if those who win it aren't even trading currencies?? 🙃

Agree. I'm also glad starting deposit is $50K instead of $100K. Makes the trading overall more realistic, rather than fantasy casino. Look at all the winners of previous contests-- got there because they rolled high...not because they had a good strategy.
