I guess you've found your "holy grail". I'm afraid to say I'm not there yet.

I agree, but it's not like I control it, do I? If my brain decides to worry, than I have no choice but agree 😄

Is that because you're system is working? Or because you stopped being nervous with open trades? I seem to always worry about trades, especially if they're in the red.
Anyone burnt by PFGBEST's closure?

Haven't been burnt by them, but will be interesting to see how this develops.I don't understand why they're not taking the website down - it looks to be working normally and still accepting new accounts?

Very well said. I agree that in the current world economy and forex regulation, US is definitely the best place to have your broker based at.As to the 'fit' - all points mentioned are excellent ones, however those who ask and look for the 'best' broker are usually the newbies which have no idea what are ecn, stp, etc', so this makes it hard for them to decide with all of the abundance of information. I think a newbie should just go for the most popular and best review broker out there, and once familiar with all of the terms, see if there's a better broker.
DONT GO THERE STUPID!

Too many options isn't necessarily a bad thing in my opinion. But that is probably because they're geared toward professional/intuitional traders. which is also why their data feed costs. With so many brokers popping up and taking over the retail market, I agree that they should do something to attract the retail clients as this user base is only getting bigger and bigger. You're saying it's your first post to help yourself develop trading skills, but then you say you've started a forex mentoring program - I'm assuming you're taking part of the program and haven'...

I forecast a small retrace before going down some more. This is where I would look to sell, with a stop above the previous high:http://www.myfxbook.com/files/James_Bond/eurusd.gif

I use Oanda. I like their customer service very much and enjoy the Java platform, although for automated trading need to switch to their MT4.Used IBFX a few years back, however experienced a lot of slippage and misquotes, which is why I moved to a different broker.

I know that opening a forex account through a bank is definitely insured, although you then get the bank's rates which are mediocre at best (unless you trade very high volumes).I search on Google and did find that citifx insure their accounts, you can find in this release (although it's from 2009, so not sure if it's still current):http://www.citifxpro.com/sites/default/files/content/pdf/CitiFXPro_Dollar_Covered_By_FDIC_230209.pdf

Very well. I hate it when I have a trade going and away from the pc. You can get almost obsessed with the market and look for any time when you can check up with your trades (mobile device, internet cafe, etc'). Do you experience the same sometimes?

I see. It sounds like it's also your hobby during which you have fun and relax and I feel the same. It is definitely much less stressful when it is not your main income.

That's very interesting. I haven't encountered anyone yet who knowingly preferred trading a system manually rather automatically. Have you tried automating it before? This would take some time in the short term, but longer term, it would free your time to explore and develop other trading systems. In any case, having an automated system doesn't mean you lose control over it, but on the contrary, it gives you a complete control over it as you remove the human factor. You can still turn it off an on as you wish and keep fine tunning it.

Yes, I agree. It's like an investment firm which uses the word 'bank' it its name.

Ezekiel, it's easy to find a reason after the fact. In many cases all the signs are working for you, while the trade still fails, so there isn't always an explanation to why a trade failed as in your case, since that is the nature of trading.

Well, you do have a point, but I think it depends much on your trading system. You can't preset entry/exit levels with any manual systems as in some you might need to see confirmation before opening the trade, which requires you to be there when it happens.I assume your trading system is more long term? In such case, the entry/exit point don't have to be accurate as with a short term system.
