Pepperstone

I've seen Pepperstone do similar, generally with exotics as well, although there is another thread on here where a guy was filled on GbpUsd 10 pips above the high of the bar on the news the other day and it wasn't even that big a news release.Quite possibly genuine in what's happening but it's very damaging to accounts. I'm currently not trading with Pepperstone for this exact reason. Best regards Steve

If I'm reading that correctly then that's the GbpUsd from the time of this morning's Services PMI news release at 9.30am. As far as my chart is concerned, GbpUsd reached a high of 1.68816 at 9.30, which means you were filled around 10 pips above the highest price that bar reached. I don't have the tick data to know how that bar traced to tell you anything about the exit. Nor do I have the spread data, although I can probably get hold of it, but I'd be surprised if it was 10 pips. However if I got a fill 10 pips above the high of a bar I'd be pretty unhappy. What I'd ...

As I said you're wasting your time placing pending orders and using the tool Wilgart suggested. Pending orders are treated completely different to market orders. If Pepperstone have flagged you account your will only see it by placing market orders.Best regards Steve

It's pointless sending limit orders. They're handled completely differently by the broker.Latency from your server to the broker's server is another thing entirely, that's not what you're trying to measure here. You need to raise actual market orders and then monitor the speed of execution from the MT4 journal. So simply create an order for your smallest lot size and then close it straight away and check what the execution speed was. Best regards Steve

Did you check your order execution speed by the way? It's worth doing, it will tell you if they flagged your account or not.Best regards Steve

Or your bad luck was because Pepperstone said "Hold on a second this guy is using arbitrage methods, screw with his latency"I would check your order execution speeds, your account may be flagged.Best regards Steve

You did answer these questions. Satisfactorily?Probably not.More importantly, potential clients have actually engaged you in conversation. You should be thinking, "Hold on a minute, these people have engaged me in conversation but have raised objections. How can I handle those objections?"The fact that you haven't speaks volumes.Best regards Steve
Ability to nest portfolios into more than one level
in
Suggestion Box
Jul 18, 2014 at 08:53
Hi,It would be really useful to be able to have sub categories under our portfolios. For example.I have accounts under one portfolio now that I would like to be able to split into two separate sub portfolios in order to better analyse/check them but still require being able to see them grouped under their current top level portfolio. Is this easy/possible to implement please?Best regards Steve

Again, what you are saying makes no sense. What I'm hearing is that you don't manage a retail account, you only manage institutional accounts? And you are copying that to a demo account to show us?I'm sorry but it just doesn't make any kind of sense and you've gone to no lengths to justify your logic. If you are trading a live institutional account, and you do have the ability to copy those trades then set up a small, live retail account and copy them to a live account. Why would you not?At the moment it looks as though you don't trade your own strategy live and that is n...

Do you not realise the absurdity of showing a demo account of a real account you are trading and expecting people to say "Oh right, that makes perfect sense. That's exactly what I'd do, mirror my real trades to a demo account and then show the demo account to get customers".Best regards Steve
MY experience with Skrill..BEWARE!

I've lost a fair amount on exchange scalping with Skrill. I try not to use them unless I absolutely have to. I'd try and find brokers that you can find with credit/debit card or bank wire. You'll especially lose a lot if you are moving from GBP to USD in Skrill, sending it to the broker and then changing it back from USD to GBP on withdrawal. If you're trading in USD - which isn't the best idea if you're living in UK - then you might want to look into getting a USD bank account and using CurrencyFair.com to change your cash GBP into USD through there before sending it via...

Hi Folks,Can anyone point me in the direction of a good trading simulator for strategy tester post 600 please? I have one or two but they're either not working now or are fairly poor in features. Ideally I'd like something with nice buttons etc. if there's anything out there.Happy to pay for one if it's good enough.Best regards Steve

Vouching system, why can't I vouch?

It's probably worth mentioning what the vouch system was introduced for. It's far too easy for people to set up on the site, load some faked account or demo etc. as we all know and then attract the less diligent/more hopeful investors. The vouch system was supposed to be a method to allow people to disregard the advice or systems of people that hadn't necessarily earned their dues on the site yet. So in effect you're vouching for people you would trust with your money.Best regards Steve
