Backtesting using LIVE or DEMO history data?

There is no such thing as demo and live data for backtesting, as far as I am aware. There is only the one set of data which I believe comes from MetaQuotes themselves.Here are some things to be aware of when backtesting. The spread is fixed at the point you start the test, not quite after the start button is pressed, I think it's after it's finished spooling through the history file. So start a test on a variable spread broker and you'll get differing results depending on what the spread was at that instant. Dominic is currently promoting an account on Forex Swiss on his web page at the moment ( see attachment ). Yes, I looked at PT Multistation myself at one stage but I think I was unprepared to pay for it after trialing it.You do know by the way that Dukascopy have apparently shelved their project to get MT4 working? So it's hard to say how long the beta version will be available from them.

Of course, as it's expressing his percentage gain from the initial capital and not from the point where the account was.So it was roughly a 20% gain on his account on the day. Which now doesn't seem as unbelievable from three trades.Thanks for stepping in and pointing that one out.

Thanks, fortunately Instaforex are good enough to provide your trading history so I can see your trades.Yesterday you opened 2 lots on GBPJPY with a stop loss of 222 pips. That seems a little risky for the account size, so I'm not sure I'd even want to risk $100.

What is important to us here Peter is establishing the credentials, the honesty and the integrity of the people offering professional services. If these are not in place then no matter how good a system looks you are basically gambling with your money.The fact that you had adverts from the less salubrious side of the internet on your website gives us an indication of the kind of circles you move in.

Good answer, doesn't really address my question though.If I filter your trades by date it shows that you actually did three trades to get your 600% and 181 pips.So, you could have compounded after each winning trade but it still means that either you are operating with a ridiculously small stop loss or are operating with a ridiculously high risk, possibly both.Is it possible to see your trade history or an investor password before opening a PAMM account with you?

OKay, I have to ask.You've made 24 trades in total, so you aren't opening lots of trades.Today you have made 600% on your account with 180 pips.If that is just one trade, then even risking 10% of your account on the trade you must have used a 3 pip stop loss to gain 600%.Maybe my sums are wrong but I'm interested to know how you achieved it.

I think Fomacc might be concerned that you are trading with unsuitable risk. Possibly even without a stop loss.There's a simple way to address this. Open up you trade history.
