Here are some brokers I am with that acted ethically during the SNB crisis the other week. None of these are recommendations, please do your own due diligence with regards to spreads, slippage etc.IG, Hot Forex, DMM FXPersonally I wouldn't use just one broker. I use around 10 at a time, that way a broker going down doesn't take you down. I also had an account at Alpari but lost less than 10% of my capital due to broker diversification.Best regards Steve

Nothing really, an email or call will receive the same information already there. Here's the part relevant to you on that screen.http://c2n.me/3bgmoPM.pngIn the meantime maybe you could contact the FCA and financial ombudsman service, although my feeling is they would point you to KPMG.Best regards Steve

I wouldn't imagine so, probably worth asking though. Here's the relevant page from the insolvency people, check on there and contact them.https://www.insolvency-kpmg.co.uk/case+KPMG+AF119D1101.htmlOh and bad luck!Best regards Steve

By Steve, are you talking to me? Keltner has nothing to do with me. I'm just a customer. I have equity alerts on my accounts and as soon as I get one I check the account. As soon as I saw my accounts I thought "fat finger" and then I checked Bloomberg. As soon as I read the news I shut down all robots and started trying to close down positions. On my Keltner account I came out okay, lost a few quid but nothing to cry about.Best regards Steve

News suggested that it would take at least 48 hours before the true fallout is felt.Personally I think there will be brokers out there crying "I'm okay it's just a flesh wound" that will bleed out over the coming weeks/months.There's going to be a lot of legal challenges, bad press and overall movement of clients between brokers as it's revealed which ones have stiffed their clients and which ones have played a fair game. A decent broker that plays fair and plays a good PR game could absolutely sweep up here.As I've posted on other threads, the ONLY safe way to tr...

I think they've read the news about FXCM and about brokers such as Gain Capital looking to sweep up the losers and decided to try and salvage something. Poor PR job by them.Best regards Steve

Ask for proof that the bank has done that, brokers lie through their teeth.Best regards Steve

Accounts only make money when you take it out, a fact that's been brought into stark relief for me over the last few days. It would be interesting to see what happened if Jared tried to withdraw from this account. Best regards Steve

One of the brokers I trade with cancelled all of my trades citing a "manifest error". I shall be taking it up with the FCA as they are regulated.Basically if this happens it shows that you were probably dealing with a bucket shop that was the counter party to the trade and they aren't prepared to lose the money.Depending on where the broker is located I would look into reporting them to the authorities.Best regards Steve

I filed a same day withdrawal with Alpari Friday morning before the announcement. It didn't get actioned even though I got the email saying it had. I guess it's down to the long, laborious compensation system. Be warned these things can take months and sometimes years. Don't count on having it any time soon. I was once taken out of the game for 18 months waiting for compensation. For anyone that isn't broker diversified I guess this is a good lesson for you. I use 10 brokers at a time, which is a total pain but Thursday's events show why such an approach is prudent.Best reg...

Depends where they are regulated, in Alpari's case they have to hold retail client deposits in separate accounts as per FCA guidelines. Best regards Steve

I've registered with a lot of brokers over the years, I've lost count but it's well over 50. I'm getting emails from some brokers that I really wouldn't have put into the good category telling me how well they've coped with this week, how they are zeroing negative accounts and how they are honouring all accounts that made good profits. Weird.Best regards Steve
