Either perform your own due diligence or have someone do it for you, like the CFTC.Think about it for a while.

This will only be possible for a very simple system where a single trade is placed at any point in time and the hard SL/TP are the actual exits. It will be a little meaningless due to many systems placing hard SL/TP way beyond their actual SL/TP.And for systems that manage multiple trades, or those that allow multiple currencies to be traded at any one time, you will never be able to determine what is the true risk that is exposed to an account based on information provided by the trading statement. The only way would be for the author to give a far disclosure of what the risk is. Or by inferrin...

Not possible unless you have a master EA taking over the close logic. In which case you should just edit the original EAs directly.

It's the delirium talking. Been at the desk for too many hours. I can't see the screen for the pixels. The only vitamin D I'm getting is from my monitors. I do not use hotkeys as I fall on my keyboard frequently. All facetiousness aside, and apologies if I came across flippant in the previous post, take your time to learn about trading. Don't rush things, you are training to become a surgeon and it takes years to become a competent one. Buy malpractice insurance. Get the comprehensive plan.

@currypigIf you haven't already done so, go to babypips.com and click on the "Start learning" button or "School" tab.It will bring you up to speed on the general knowledge for retail forex trading. Even today I find interesting things to read there.I wish I had come across it at first instead of stumbling my way through and learning from a mentor. If you are adamant about finding a tutor, make sure the guy shows you his trading statement first. Too many unqualified people feel compelled to tell other people what to do with what little knowledge they have. Heck, look at ...

Setting the "Expert Advisors" button to off / unchecking the "allow live trades" box, will disable the handling of the current open trades by the EAs, they will be uncontrolled. The best way would be to edit the EAs directly.

Relative Drawdown by Balance

Jan 25, 2012 at 15:15
Being asked a few times about Relative Drawdown, I was about to post here how it is calculated by MT4, and an alternative, more meaningful method to calculate it by Balance. However, the lack of formatting would make the post difficult to read. As such, see it at:http://raidenworks.com/2012/01/25/drawdown/Orhttp://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?p=5325195#post5325195

Looking at the 2011-12-28 trade:http://www.myfxbook.com/files/Raiden/w633_Fruitful_20111228.pngWe can see that if you had started trading just prior this date, the account wouldn't have enough balance to survive a margin call.Of course, this margin call is comparatively low at a 23.8%(1,190.23/5,000) hit to the account(due to the high margin locked-up), which can be made up for by a gain in 31.5% in a following no-loss period (3 weeks if it's about 40% a month). It's a toss-up. If the frequency of these large DD events are low, it could be a viable system. But then again to rely on ...

Hi w633, some queries if you can indulge me.I notice a few events where the lotsizing of the recovery positions don't seem to follow a strict formula.1st position - 0.012nd position - 0.043rd position - 0.164th position - 0.645th position - 0.176th position - 0.207th position - 0.248th position - 0.29Is the 5th position onwards triggered by a different strategy or is this in line with your money management rules? What will the final stop out % of the initial balance be if the market does trend?A rough calculation of the one of these larger DD events works out to be a minimum of 10%+ when th...

@ vp730Well put, you've hit the nail on the head. I started my trading journey by signing up with a trainer. While I have no doubt about his sincerity, after a year of training under him, I began to observe that his technical system was flawed. It had to do with MA cross-overs and other indicators. When questioned about it by students, he would get a little riled up and give many reasons for why their trades failed. You have to bear in mind that some of his students were engineers who could design and build a petroleum refinery from scratch, much less read a chart. The sad thing is that the...

Re-reading Ezekiel's post on why most forex traders fail is because they think about the money involved, does come across as a little insipid. However, let him have the opportunity to show what he says does contribute to a good trading psychology and hence successful performance.I understand your gripes about his implied offering of mentorship, but let his record speak for itself if and when he uploads it. I would be interested to see it. There is always something to be learnt from good performers.

Well, I guess the proof of the pudding is in the eating. If he shows positive trading statements, it doesn't matter if his ideas do not line up with yours or even the consensus of trading professionals. If they work, they work. We'll just have to wait and see what he uploads. As mentioned, he's got stones coming here and I'm sure he wouldn't want to disappoint.

Ouch... while there are a lot of forex trainers in Singapore, not many have the stones to come to a trade publishing website to post. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and see his statements of success that credit his authority to coach.Of course, when I say statements, I mean trade statements. You never know, he could have a kick-ass strategy.

The developers distribute Euronis for free under a referral plan. You sell it at $250.I imagine you will succeed in swindling some people. Personally, I believe reputation and continuous business is more important, not this hack-and-slash model. I do not wish you any success.Note that all it takes is an email to the Euronis guys to verify your story.
