Be careful when buying EA's not from the original creator - it might be a cracked version or modified one. When dealing with real money, better spend a bit more to get the real deal.

I agree that it's simply a matter of taste. Not many reach this stage unfortunately, which is also why only a few are answering your question..
Do you think you can turn $200 into $400 in six weeks?

Indeed. May get into the forex business as they think their going to double their money in no time - this is sadly incorrect and causes them to lose their hard earned money. Not having to be worried about super hight returns definitely improves the psychological part of trading.

Did you or your friend heard from them about this matter? Although rare, it is possible they are a genuine firm which had a rough patch.

I think Oanda operates only in US and Canada, however you can just go with the US branch. I think they have the best reputation out there and is definitely an excellent broker to start (and stay 😄) with. Not sure if the the CFTC list is of any good - there were brokers listed there which still went belly up, although it does give some kind of reassurance that your money is in a safe place.

Well said. I would like to add that there isn't a fit-all type of solution - each trader and trading system must be addressed differently. The one thing that is common and is already mentioned by others, is the ability to analyze your trading learn from it in order to move forward.

Sure, give me $400 😀Kidding aside, what would be the point? Sustaining such returns for long term is impossible.

I agree. What's the point? It's like going a step backwards. Why not use a floating spread broker?

Always have a stop loss, and if things aren't going your way, stop and think (a)if you're doing everything according to place and (b) if your trading system works.I for one stopped using indicators and trade with simple support resistance lines. If you look long enough at the screen, you'll definitely see some tradable patterns. 😄In your case, it is hard to trade and go to school at the same time as both are distractions for the other.
What do you expect from a broker?

If the firm is regulated, I believe this info should be backed up by documents/statements on the regulator's side.

Is this it? http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Fxringleader/forex-ringleader-professional-money-managers/250584If so, have you noticed it's a demo account? Moreover, the drawdown is 86% which is definitely not acceptable.

I agree. Although I don't think it would give you a definite answer as to if one is going to succeed but more of a lead to which way it goes. Nevertheless, I'm sure there are those who succeed going the standard way - as you said "retain what` written all over the internet in terms of prudent steps to take in `breaking` themselves into trading."

I don't think it's related. There are professional gamblers who make good money. Gambling isn't necessarily a bad word. In my point of view, when you gamble, you have a 50:50 chance to win, which is the same as with trading, until you find your edge.
Forex Broker Debit Card

Haven't used it before, but don't see a real reason for it. Even if you have enormous profits to withdraw, it would be best to withdraw it in a controllable manner such as a bank wire. The account is obviously for trading purposes, so using a debit card would most likely create chaos in the trading history and your money management rules as it's too easy to withdraw funds.

Well, it would be hard to determine. You can tell if one is a newbie, however how can you know how much is he/she going to invest in it in terms of learning and trading until successful? Or how much time would it require as it is different for everyone?

Are you going to trade a very large account? If not, I strongly urge you to trade through a broker - you will get much better prices a lot of options in trading platform and tools.
