This is a grid trader called GT-Shadow set up to trade the AUDNZD pair like robominer and the AUDUSD pair. It is traded on a GOMARKETS swap free account due to the high swap cost associated with trading both pairs. For AUDUSD it set to trade for 0.89 up to 1.02 and I trade it short only. The grid setup is to trade this pair in ranges close to historic high. The good thing about the AUDUSD pair is that it ranges much more than the AUDNZD pair currently does.
I feel comfortable with GT-Shadow and have been using it for more than a year on various currency pairs. I trade this live and with serious money.
Feel free to ask question or offer ideas.

What kind of problems did you incounter when you had account for swap to true? I planned to go with Forex.com but I may hold off depending on your answer. I do know when trades are placed the other way 'when that time comes' The swaps are positive instead of negative.
Also, would I be able to do what your doing with the AUDUSD with roboPRO? Or would it have to be GT-Shadow only?

RoboPro can trade the AUDUSD. I have analysed statements and found out that it is better to have a swap free account as the overall cost are cheaper. I got stung pretty bad when I had some audnzd orders open for more than a year. The swap was very high.
Another benefit off gomarkets above forex is that the spread on AUDNZD is 6-7 pips which is a ot lower than forex.com

Hey Fortenova, nice work.
Could you tell me how you determine where your grid should be? Do you just use trendlines on a 4 hour chart, etc?
I guess you don't sell your EA or services, just curious
Nice work, man

Wayne,
The GT-Shadow EA is a commercial available Expert Advisor, it is not mine. Do a search on Google. The idea is to setup grids near the extremes of a currency pair. So AUDUSD is setup near the extreme to trade from 0.86 to 0.99. The AUDNZD is can be traded over the whole range which is 1.04 to 1.31. What we are seeing now is that the AUDNZD is above 1.31 and a lot of trades are open. That is the risky part of the strategy. Hence why I use a swap free account.
On other accounts I am trading the USDCHF was is near historic lows on GT-S as well. Other pairs that are near extremes are USDCAD & USDJPY. Grid sizing is the most important thing.

Due to the end of swap free trading I had to close all positions at a loss. The AUDUSD was paying a high amount of swap. The AUDNZD was paying less. Here the trades turned into my favour and I could get out with minimal loss. Shame go markets went this way and I had to take this loss. Be careful with grid trading on swap free accounts as conditions might change.
All in all an average of 4.5% per month for 4 and a half months. I am happy with the result.

I like the scaling in and making profits on daily ranges of the grid trading method. I do set the take profit larger when the trend is down trying to capture more pips. Overall not a bad call since I stopped trading AUDUSD & AUDNZD due to reintroduction of swap.

I have pretty hectic grid like software, but I'll be buggered if I could ever make it work - it always wipes out in the end.
You have to make a call anyway. And the idea of the grid is supposed to be no direction. Basically your success or demise depends on the call and timing of the start.
Not something I'm prepared to build a future on....one day I'll make the wrong call and that will be that.

Hi fortenova...have you tried the GT shadow on any other brokers and what was the performance...and does spread affect the performance?
Yes GT-Shadow works on any broker. Gridtraders are not realy bothered by market makers or ecn type brokers. The smaller the spread the more chance of closing the trade so that is what to look for but do this in combination of swap cost as well.

If you trade small grids DD can quickly add up but so does the profit. I always size my lot sizes and gridsizes and try to find extremes in currency ranges where the risk of the grid running away is minimal.
Due to volatility in euro i close much more trades than expected. I have traded GT-Shadow for more than 18 months on several accounts. Never had a blow out and had sometimes close loosing trades manually. Overall profit is about 80% per year.

AUDNZD seems to be ranging much more per day 80-120 pips per day. This should help it close 2-4 trades day. The fact that it ranges this much makes it an interesting pair to add again. Although swap is high. I have activated it to trade besides the eurusd. Eurusd is now below 1.20 and seems to be stuck between the 1.18 and 1.20 level.

Hi Fortenova.
I've just started up with my own gridtrading EA. As a test for profitability i'm trading 29 currencypairs on the same account. I mainly made the system cause GT-Shadow and Robominer are too limited in my opinion.
My system dynamically adjusts the gridsizes based on the historical range, free margin, maximum orders allowed, risksetting and spread/mimimum stoplevels (stoplevels can be manually adjusted, so if one wants larger gridseparation just put in the number of pips...)
I've got 2 demo's running on mt4stats - usernames 'grids' and 'gridsforpips' and a live cent-account with Instaforex published here on myfxbook under GridsForPips - it's suppossed to be a commisionbased account, but there's still some currencypairs with spread :( ?
The system works with ECN and FIFO-accounts.
Hope u have good luck with your GT-Shadow, I'm also a 'like the many small, steady profits guy'
