I would let the system run for another few months before considering opening it to the public.

Hi Mevo,Thanks for the info. This is quite sad as the US govt is now pretty much telling you what you can and cannot do with your own money. Its also unfortunate that I may have just lost a potential investor. :( I didn't think much about it when the news broke a few years back, but all the commotion that the traders were making back then, I only understand now. -LK

Hi Everyone,Of late I've had a couple of queries regarding my trading system, and possibly trading for investors. So heres the question : I hear that there are laws that prevent US residents from holding spot forex accounts offshore, and at the same time limiting brokers to provide leverage only up to 1:50. What are my options if my system requires 1:100 leverage, but my potential investors are residing in the US ? Any thoughts, suggestions, work arounds are welcomed. -LK

Hi Ethan,Thanks for your response. But what I'm looking at is quite frightening. On my main page, it says the system drawdown is 7.01%, but in the charts window, underdrawdown, it says that my most recent drawdown is 45.97%. Do you think you could have a look at this for a moment for me ? Does the fact that my trading account is a mini account (10,000/lot) instead of a standard account (100,000/lot) make a difference ? Thanks.

Theres nothing much to learn really. As my mentor said, your system is only 5% of your trading success. 95% is your trading mentality (I suppose he lumped money management in here too). He added that any decent system will work, even something like MA crosses, as long as you have the right trading mentality.Unfortunately, my broker doesn't have PAMM account facilities. I'll keep you posted if this ever changes. Thanks for your encouragement.

Thats quite unfortunate. I'm sure there are some traders here that are actually doing pretty well. Guess the devil is in the detail, and finding the right one for you might be a bit more difficult that first thought. Good luck on your endeavours tho'.

Thanks Raiden and DDMaster for taking the time to look at it. Really appreciate it. IBFX has both standard lot accounts (1lot = 100,000), and mini accounts (1lot = 10,000). My account is a mini account, so on my statements when you see 1lot its actually a 10,000 lot (or 0.1 standard lots). Thats probably where the confusion all started. I think also by that virtue, my drawdown calculations on my link aren't really accurate. *sigh*

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but my drawdown numbers don't look correct either. Does myfxbook take into account that some accounts are mini accounts, while others are standard accounts ?

Hi Raiden,Thanks for the observation. Its very strange that its listed as 45.97% on the drawdown tab. I've never actually clicked it until I saw your posting. If yo look at my trading history and did the math manually, Those numbers really don't add up. I'll have to look into this further. As for the leverage calculation, please correct me if I'm wrong.Used/Real leverage = Debt : Equity = Lots * LotSize * AveragePipValye * PairsTraded : Account Equity = 4 * 10,000 * 1.25 * 13 / 42955 = 15.13The max le...

Thanks for your feedback. Your thoughts and concerns seem genuine, and would help me build my eventual presentation. I'll try my best to address your post here. I think what you're seeing here are the underlying mechanics. As mentioned it is traded as an investment, and in some ways a basket of instruments. A similar example would be trading an index, where we trade the the index as a whole, not its component instruments. Some of the components will make, some will lose. But the idea is, as an overall, it ends up on the positive end. What I meant by "we know exactly to get in"...

Oh sorry bout that. Have set history and lot sizes to public. I guess its not entire apparent that I hold trades for days, sometimes weeks. You can see that under duration. Its also probably not common knowledge that myfxbook doesn't record data for days which I don't trade, even when there are trades open. And yes, I'm also out of the market sometimes, when the markets not favourable. -LK

What is it ?The system is a trend following system, which generally means we do not predict the market. We will wait till the market turns, before following it, and wait till the market turns around again before getting out. This also means we will never buy when its lowest and never sell at its highest. The idea is to try and get most of the trend. This system was created with managing large accounts in mind. The key principle that everything works around is capital preservation. How does it work? The system is a mechanical system, which means we know exactly when to get in, when to get out, wh...
