So happens their CEO, for IBFX Australia anyway is on twitter, I tweeted him, got a response and as a result have him on my Skype. Doesn't happen often where you can directly communicate with a CEO. I suggest to work this problem you look for IBFX on twitter, and ask them directly what's going on. Nothing like social media pressure to bring an issue to bear.@adrian8891 You realise IBFX is owned by Monex? This is not your average mickey mouse bucket shop. They have billions and years and years of experience in markets.

@togrMust be having fun today, that's the second freeze. Moment something hits the market they freeze....I'm with IBFX myself, and Oanda, so for the record I feel your pain. But it's kind of how it goes. They've been having this problem for 3 weeks now.

What I suggest, And I did follow my own advice, is go put yourself on a decent JAVA course. Spend the time, learn how it works. Anybody can do it. It's not that difficult. Coding is mainly a bunch of small programs talking to each other with a lot of "if this happens then do that" statements. And brackets. You have to know the brackets. I'm still crap at JAVA, but after that the MQL was easy. Stop looking for a free ride, roll up your sleeves and go learn the skills you need to do this, if you want to do this.

Yes, trade context is a well known error. Means you've sent a trade, and before you received a reply you've sent another. Can be because you're running more than 1 EA that's trying to trade at the same time or you've sent a trade but the server is hanging and not getting back to you before you send the next one. To resolve it if you're using more than 1 EA, set a global variable that all the EA's must read before it trades. So if EA 1 is about to trade, set the variable to 1 or something, do the trade and then reset it to 0. So if EA 2 gets there and it's alread...

@Professor53 IBFX has had issues of late. They became unstable Thursday and the problem's persisted although yesterday was ok. I'm sure they're working on it...! It happens...

Speed is a big issue for me. I find it very frustrating that I can't trade the way I want to in fx. O's API was quite fast, but they won't let me do volumes and they've written in a delay between closing different pairs. I like to trade relationships, so I use to be able to get a target and close a position of say 30 trades before the next tick comes in, but now it takes 30 seconds. MT is just as slow, so that method of trading is out.

@adrian8891 What do you think Oanda does ? They handle far more than 1000 orders per second. Besides, these kind of guys typically put their servers in the same buildings as the exchanges. So there is no internet or VPS, just a cable from one computer to another.

Their feed has been a bit dodgy of late, but it happens sometimes. All brokers have problems at some point. It should be in your trading plan. Going to happen at some point no matter who you trade with.

TotallyIt's worth hundreds of millions a year. HFT is big business. What they do, and it's very likely to get stopped soon, is take advantage of time delays in old infrastructure. Orders always arrived at the BATS exchange first, but it takes a bit longer to get to NYSE or Nasdaq because of physical location. These guys would then have a super optimized system to get to the rest of the exchanges first. MT is a toy. Of course you can't do it on MT. You need C++ and most likely FIX.It requires things like microwave connections, inline functions and memory pointers. Special hardware etc...Point is there is a case for very high volumes in FX. On 30 pairs you get about 25 000 to 40 000 ticks per pair per day, that's 1 000 000 value changes. Make a 1 cent one...on a $10k account. Pharkers won't let me trade like that, MT is to slow and Oanda has volume restrictions, or I'd be sending them 1 million 1 unit trades a day. Steve, The HFT's send about 1000 trade per second. So not only is it technically possible, it's a quite common practice in fact. And the HFT's are active in the forex market, I assure you. Only some fxbrokers, iow's the bucket shops, will restrict your volumes.

Yes, but I hope you guys understand that not only is the market you're trying to trade beyond any form of analysis, but the contracts you're trading are worthless. And that will very become apparent when the poop hits the fan. That 500 tonnes of gold that got dumped into the market very likely doesn't exists in any current gold storage, it's been rehypothecated. Melted and sold off as jewellery to the moms in Asia.
