True ECN will have slippage and spread,but slippage is much more related to their execution speed rather than liquidity unless you are trading 50+ lots which is doubtful on normal retail brokers. Dukas - yes. Real ECN with really big slippage sometimes :)

In case of Oanda they don't slow down, just deny modification so you get a worse entry price and more likely to lose. But they are a Market Maker, how hypercritical is that they promote themselves as a broker with most winning clients. I wrote to MDP support with a question why MDP functions of trailing open position stop loss is not working on Oanda but a support seems to be absent or just don't match their client base and number of questions/complain. PS my other broker (ECN) is doing fine.

Here is an important hindsight. I was testing last two weeks with Oanda and finally put a bigger deposit once moved to Oanda Europe. While I was doing with 150 usd deposit, all went beautiful, modification was 400-450 ms, in MDP average never gone over 1000 ms for 8 orders, this was nice. However, I noticed MDP worked strange at OANDA, it does place pending orders, and modifies them, but never moves SL or TP, and no attempts in the logs, minimal distance on OANDA is 0. However it managed to predict SL and TP very very well and I was grabbing 20-30 pips profits with occasional loss. I decided t...

Nobody knows hot to backtest MDP? On Oanda is was working well but I noticed it could not move pending orders and did not trail any positions, i.e. it either hit TP or SL. It did well for some time but yesterday and today some losses. Not sure whether to continue, it's 30% functional.

well there is a rule for high risk stuff as you double take away half of the profit. this way money would be saved and gain pocketed at least some

Erica how much your account did make to before it blew up? Max balance? I.e. they take 30% of your profits so despite the meltdown they pocketed very nice money indeed.

Only a fool can believe HFT can trade similarly on demo and real. For me if a robot can make even steady 10% a month without drawdown bigger than 5% it is a fantastic robot. I run MDP only 1 month on a live account, so far it is 54% up and draw down was around 5% max.AutoApplyECN only makes difference whether it will automatically change your values related to use stop orders and hard trailing. Actually without stop orders you have more chances to miss a trade since you occationally may receive and off-quotes error or requote when trying to open a market order.

So your idea of the forum is to get a valuable information without any hassle or work done and let others spend weeks, months and money performance testing different setups? Haha, you leave easy life, pal.The truth is any more less legatimate STP/ECN broker will have a similar behaviour. The only different behaviour would be if you trade so small or so unsuccessful they would put you against house liquidity giving you fills with no slippage and faster execution. If you are profitable they would put you onto external liquidity, and it definitely would take more time to fill and bigger slippage....

A person who introduced me to MDP and actually recommended it trades it with 50 000 usd account successfully, he says execution is exactly the same as for his small 1 000 account he runs for reference. Can't mention the broker, sorry.

T3 bridge from Fair Trading is no good for MDP - too slow, and trades are poorly matched, some don't get closed, SL doesn't work, etc. Experience only on demo. After seeing it on demo no desire to test on real. They ask for extra 5$ per lot commission, which is a lot.

I never said systems like MDP or any widely popular retail systems cannot affect the general market - they can, however little. But since they are connected via retail brokerages the only way they affect the market is via brokers re-adjusting their inventory, and this is absolutely not necessary will be in sync with MDP orders, as brokers do this all the time to offset risks from all other traders and therefore creating a "noise" shield for these trades. FX is full of big mouths. Running an EA that pretty much is doing opposite to MDP on a broker where MDP works badly (this is what you do) has nothing to do with targetting MDP. To target MDP you either need to be able to move the market, to move market even by 2-3 pips to hit MDP SL you need to come in with at least 50 Mio to start with, or you need to be a market maker where you can manipulate the feed. I am 100% sure you aren't either. Please educate yourself before continuing this conversation.

You should stop taking drugs for starters. To target MDP users you need to be a broker and then you can target MDP users who trade with you, but they will leave you pretty soon, or another smart ass will see you have a divergence from a feed from EBS or Reurters and will arb the ass out of you and leave you shattered to pieces. If it would be so simple everybody would be doing it. But sure, talk costs nothing. The only thing institutional HST can target is another institutional HST.PS one full month in, 54% gain with 1.5% risk and never more than 5% DD. Haha.
