Yes, I understand you. Not everyone sees Zero as sort of entertainment as I do. And obviously you have better things to do that sitting in front of the screen. I hope South African beaches not worse than those in Thailand though :)The presence of numerous hypos there must be main difference ;)

It's pity. There is practically no old timers experienced traders post in Oanda now. I spend most of the time in Forex Factory in 1-2 threads with like minded traders. It's where I believe emerging traders still can learn from experienced ones. Oanda forum is just not what it used to be. I guess your decision is related to bad energy that is there now. Thankfully, in Forex Factory it looks like energy is still good.

I have seen CuongV, KingInvestor and even Mr. Zero and yours truly but all under their usual nicknames. I came to associate you with that jumping elephant and nickname GrimFD so, I did not expect you under other nick :)I personally do not think that serious investor will be asking for even say 10-20% monthly which is actually quite possible. i would have made 10-15% this month had I closed all positions same time. I was closing half position and let the rest run which it did not. So, I think it is possible but better to keep it safe. BTW, I see this :" Chang beer is evil" . Do you me...

I see. I am actually quite sure that had I had some real money of my own I would have been doing just fine now. However for managing OPM, I sure need longer trading record. I guess another 4-6 months if everything goes same way is fine. I am sure my hard work will pay sooner or later.

Hi Grim ! Did not expect to see you here :) I am constantly worried about returns issue. So, your words are rather helpful. I will feel better about my returns now. Whatever the market gives, thanks a lot.

Hello everyone!I am posting my first topic here as I am struggling to gouge what is that serious investors want?I have been trading Forex since October 2008 and stopped losing money approximately 6 months after I started. I still trade same money as I deposited in the very beginning. However I used to have problems with returns. I actually have no idea for how much monthly/ annual returns should I strive to attract serious investors in the future. I am trading 2 accounts here and after being told that 5% is not worth it, i pushed myself and lost all my earnings for 4 months in September and th...

If the only capital you can risk is $100 or say $1000 you gonna have same emotional ups and downs. For some people $15000 is a pocket money but for some $200 is scared money. you forget to think that not everyone can have such means to trade but nevertheless can be good trader.

I am not blind but FX market is considered "blind" as there is no orders and volume information.I see what I need to see to make $$$. But volumes and orders obviously would be very helpful.

I think it is easy to lose money quickly in both stocks and Forex, but leverage factor is obviously here. My leverage per each pair is always 1:1. I use no leverage to make higher returns. In stocks you can open position with say 10 000 shares and let it run when it is against you ;)I think results would be similar to trade FX with high leverage. And yes to Elkart. If you know how to trade FX, by which I do not mean grid and hedging, you absolutely can learn to trade stocks much faster than someone who just started trading stocks.Imagine, we trade FX blind, we have no information, while those wh...

regarding FX trading I am absolutely paranoid about cutting losses. It was enough for me to lose once 70% of my $100 account and I got it right away. I am risk control nut. But on the other hand I take profits too early as well. Which obviously is not good.

agree. I was thinking. 1 tick is 1 cent. 1 pip is 1/100 cent. so, if I scalp stocks and I am allowed only up to 3 ticks loss it mean relatively 30 pips in FX. But anyway, I notice, the moves are quite different. At least I feel it is easier to determine short term move in stocks in comparison to FX as I have my Level II and Orders window and especially volumes. I mean by trading air that stocks/ commodities represent something real like company or commodity that has real value while currencies are paper money and has no such real value attached to them. They are being printed now with a speed ...

I am relatively new in trading. Have been trading Live for 1 year and 4 months but I agree with the author. I know quite a few guys using grids, hedging and telling me not to use stop loss as market is coming back. I personally do not think it is trading. However as I started trading stocks , I could not help but to notice a huge difference between stocks and FX markets. In stocks, I am absolutely sure risk control can be applied a way better than in FX which has a different kind of price movements. Elder was not trading FX but stocks. While I can trade with 1-3 ticks stop loss in stocks, I can...
