South Africa Interest Rate Decision
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the South African Reserve Bank is responsible for making interest rate decisions in the country. The repo rate is defined as the official interest rate. On an end-of-period basis, this is the rate upon which central banks loan or discount qualifying paper for deposit money banks.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the ZAR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the ZAR.
