This is god damn ridiculous, i thought this was a forex competition why are people tradign stock indexes... this is fucking unfair...
No, this is not a forex competition, even though it was advertised as such. Heck, FXCM is a FOREX broker. Their name stands for Forex Capital Markets. But noooooo just because FXCM is a forex broker and just because My'FX'Book is a website just for forex, and just because 95% of the people here have NEVER traded index-- doesn't mean that this is a forex contest 😉 Muahahahahaha! 😇 😇 😇 😇 😇
But mydad is right.....Jason from FXCM said that any instrument on the platform was game. I just wish I had known all this BEFORE the contest started, maybe then I would have a chance 😑
In the meantime let's cheer on those winning 😁

Heck, I just tried a few index trades, not for me really. The guys trading the Italian index were paying attention today on the back of the mess over there due to stress testing, as an index trader it would have been a no-brainer really.
Good for them for finding the opportunity today, won't last though.

Check at me for next week. You seen nothing yet MYDAD. I got to tweak my settings and now I'm back on the road. Good luck to all of you guys... (let's keep minded on the game) ;-)
Jason from FXCM stated in the Contest Questions thread that Canada residents weren't eligible.

Hi Everyone,
We had several questions about the upcoming contest, so if you have any, please post it here and Jason Rogers from FXCM will be sure to answer.
Jason, here are already asked questions:
- Can the winner withdraw the $3000 or $2000 at once? if not, then when? I do not find any information about withdraw rules. Can you clarify?
- Are users from BC(Canada) can participate?
- Is this competition to be run using NFA rules or UK trading rules?
- Are EA's allowed?
- Is there a max number of lots allowed per trade?
- Is there a max leverage allowed?
- Is there a max number of trades allowed simultaneously?
Thanks!
Hi Ethan,
Here are the answers to some of the questions, we should have more details on the rest tomorrow:
- Are users from BC(Canada) can participate?
Users from BC (Canada) would not be eligible unfortunately since the contest prize is an FXCM trading account with the funds already deposited, and FXCM UK is unable to open accounts for traders in British Columbia.
- Are EA's allowed?
Yes! EA's are allowed.
- Is there a max number of lots allowed per trade?
You can open as many lots as you want, considering of course you have the margin necessary to open the position(s).
- Is there a max number of trades allowed simultaneously?
You can have any number of trades running simultaneously
Cheers,
Jason

Only people from BC aren't eligible, the rest of Canada can participate as they wish. BC has different financial regulations.
Never trade for the sake of trading. Instead, wait for the trades where you have a clear advantage and exploit it.
