Wow, you said that while keeping your face straight 😄Okay, so ATC last I heard still used the FXCM data feed and here is FXCM's spread for 19th -23 July 2010 for GBP/CHF ( as an example )http://www.mt4i.com/spread/BrokerSpreadChart.aspx?symbolid=16&broker=21Jade FX I actually have an account with. I dropped the development of my own Asian Session scalper as I couldn't get the spread I was getting during the London session.I used to have an account with FXCBS and to be honest would advise anyone about placing more than about $10 with them ( as indeed do the folks over at For...

Are those backtests generated on London session spreads or Asian session spreads?

FX Pro insist on using the original method that you used to fund the account. I did open an MB trading account but they had some weird issue with the lot sizes on demo accounts which meant that I didn't go ahead with funding a live account. I'm currently using a Jade Fx account for a play account and bridging across to Dukascopy for a main account. From my undestanding of them, bad ticks are where you don't get an up to date tick feed, so the MT4 platform corrects the prices. It always conveniently seems to happen at the point where my trades are about ready to open and market volat...

I've finally closed my FxPro account, tired of the tricks they've been pulling on my account. Disconnects during trades when there is fast movement - even though the demo server stays up! Far too many requotes and bad ticks, preventing my strategy from opening up orders that would have gone on to win.Now as I try and withdraw my money they insist on the transaction going against the debit card I issued the money with. A card that has by now expired, meaning that I don't actually have the details of the card anymore. They are saying they can't process the withdrawal otherwise!Ne...

Come on folks, let's try and keep it polite. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and neither of you are doing your professional status any favours by acting like teenagers.

I see that it's a manual system and I also see that you don't enter a stop loss for most of the trades. Do you actually have a stop loss for the trades? I notice you have closed some out for a loss.

Not sure why you are doing it this way. Provided you have an honest broker submit it with a maximum slippage and if it can't close with no slippage then it will close with slippage. In fact thinking about it further at the point you submit the request to close with zero slippage they might not be able to close at zero slippage. When you then submit your request to close with 1 pip slippage they might actually be able to close with zero slippage etc.Whenever I code EA's I always try and strip out any code that is not absolutely necessary. The more code you put in there the more there is...

Indeed, as MT4 EA's can only handle one thread with the broker at any one time you're going to be getting new prices all the time while your stack of orders closes. You might want to think about running separate MT4 instances for separate pairs in order to reduce this problem. Not sure how that would work out with your strategy but it's something you may want to consider.

Yep, I would need to know more about the way your EA works. However if it's scalping or has tight stops then you could expect very different results. Spreads and prices around news events can vary considerably between different brokers. They might be requoting you or throwing you old tick messages. Could be any number of reasons to be honest, depending on how the EA works.

You know, I actually like this idea. Not so much the button but the filter. If people want their system to appear on the systems list for marketing purposes then they should have no reason to hide the broker in my opinion.

Hi,Thanks for your comment, my EA's are not for sale or distribution. I generally allow people to trade them on mirror signal sites such as Tradency or ZipSignals.PinPoint Wizard would not work on a live account in it's current form. The backtest was generated during the London session when the spreads are lower and the trades occur when the spread is not as favourable. I was looking into making it better but managed to write Behemoth which is much more promising.I'm happy to give you some help on EA writing, although to be honest, I'm not a great programmer either so don't...

This was up to 9.5% profit on Friday afternoon until it took four trades late Friday evening. I did think the spread filter would keep it out of trades at this time but apparently not. I shall now hard code an exclusion after 3pm Friday. No reason for it to be trading after then really.

Try asking ForexCIO if it's possible to decompile their EX4 programs if you have a copy of MetaTrader Server and see what the answer is.

I beg to differ, Cast Iron Man version 3 currently stands at 92% after nine months of trading and I fit into neither of those criteria. I'm sure there are many other people on here who are trading genuinely and have successful strategies.

Yep, I'm with Elkart. Don't sell it.If your EA actually falls into the rare category of "working" the last thing you want is for it to be in the open market. Run managed accounts using it. It's far more profitable to do that than to sell it anyway.

I think he means Swiss National Bank and my guess is he might be referring to the way they sometimes peg it to the Euro, it was especially apparent during the Greek banking crisis.
