Dangerous and misleading drawdown calculations

When are you going to fix up the drawdown calculations?By calculating the DD only at the point of closing the positions is deadly wrong ! Between the open and close time the position can be allmost wiped out and still you show the DD risk for example only 2.5% :) This is VERY MISLEADING !Calculations must be done continuously during the time when positions are open. By doing this you can also provide another important values such a "MAE" and "MFE".Everything else in your service is EXCELLENT and usable. Thank you very much for providing this kind of service.SG

No problems with your english. I am in the same "boat" too ;)You look things from quite different angle than I. So this is the reason...Nice to know your broker. Better picture now.btw. I trade gold (futures) directly in CME:Globex (no shop between me and the exchange). Only full contracts so 1 tick is 0.1 -> 100 ozs/c $10/tick/contract. Here is the spec for it http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/metals/precious/gold_contract_specifications.html (nothing new for you I think). And again ;) May I ask why you do not disclose your open positions? Anyway. Have a good tradingSG

I see you are very focused with your gains. Do not forget that there WILL BE times when your system stops to work as well as it does now. Then you will learn what the "drawdown" and risk control means (DD must be calculated from the open positions not from the closed trades as this site does). But as I said. This is not a system for those who does not like +200 pip drawdowns (btw. that Gold trade were +700 pip loss) while average win is only 23.9. 4 big losses in a row may be near 3000 pip loss. At this point it means 40% loss of equity. For those who does not care this may be an excel...

This is not a system for those who does not like over 200 pip drawdowns (for open trades) while average win trade is only 23.9 pip. Just check those history trades kept open over 1-2 days. But if you forget that then the gain and the closed trades drawdown is very attractive at this moment ;)

HOW BIG IS THE DRAWDOWN is everything (which is calculated from the open positions) and then comes the gain.Which one?a) 800% gain, 80% drawdown b) 80% gain, 8% drawdownSystem works 8mo well and then comes the drawdown mo. In case A you will loose 80% of your accumulated equity when in case B you loose only 8%.Think about it.---Show your open positions and we will stop whining ;) SGbtw. this can be solved manually by going through the trades and checking what the price did during the positions, but I am not going to do this because I am not interested enough...

Automated or not. 50% loss is a HUGE. It is gambling not trading.

Ok. But there is no history trades available. Very important information. Can you disclose those trades with your other succesfull systems?

It could be a nice feature if I could filter in only those Systems which give permission to check the history trades.btw. This site will be execellent and may even change the industry if you will add the trade and trader confirmation (directly from the broker) feature to the systems as described in your blog...

This must be bad luck. It was just this one which was badly programmed. Things happen ;)Is it possible you could disclose the trades for those which are doing well too?SG

Where can I find a drawdown for the whole account which takes into account the open positions ?For example:Starting equity: $1000Long EURUSD (1 pip=$10, commissions included in the bid/ask spread) position for 1 lot @1.50000Price goes to 1.4950 Price returns back to 1.4990Position closed @1.4990Trade loss: -$100Ending equity: $900Account drawdown: -5% Now it seems the results are calculated from the closed positions only (end results)...
