Combining Larry Williams Percent Range, False Break Buy/Sell Pattern, an 18-Period SMA, with tight money management is generating excellent results for me...so far!
Forex Broker Debit Card

Seems that more and more brokers are offering a debit card option. Personally, I like this concept, because it provides convenient access to funds worldwide. Against this, yes, the fees do seem a tad high. Plus, un-controlled use could play havoc with money management. For regular planned income withdrawals this is easily managed...random shoppers be warned!

MANAGING PROFIT

In a world where everyone is obsessed with preparing for the worst, there seems to be little time dedicated to the subject of preparing for success. Of course we need to protect against capital loss and financial failure, but once we have appropriate measures in place to limit risk and to exit a trade quickly if price action moves against us, it is time to focus on what to do with profit. And let’s be totally honest and open about this. Yes, there are plenty of traders out there making regular profits, but that does not automatically guarantee success. Profit is one thing. What you do wit...

Dale, it takes a humble gentlemen to say sorry in public. You are obviously such a person!Frankly, I can see where both sides are coming from on this one...a prize is a prize, risk free money is risk free money. To be honest about it, if I could double the prize money in 3 months, I would gladly hand back the prize. But then, it's a prize...shouldn't I get to keep it?

How typical of government these days...the BIG guys are allowed to do the damage, often in bed with the government, but the little guy pays the price time and time again. Why on earth American's are prohibited from trading Gold and Silver, for example, is just beyond my comprehension. How did the free enterprise centre of the world become the nanny state it is right now? It is an insult to America's forefathers!

Hi there,I focus on H4 timeframes because they are relatively "noise" free and generate fairly accurate signals regardless of the indicator being used, i.e. MA, pSAR, etc. I too used to look to shorter timeframes for the entry point, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that, except that with the indicator I use now I don't find that I need the shorter timeframe.Currently I am using Tom DeMarks Trendlines. Essentially, this is a breakout system from trendlines, and includes 4 qualifying filters at entry, 3 risk management exit conditions, and best of all, price proj...

One of my early demo accounts made $80,000 overnight. Oddly, I have never been able to repeat this with my real account. In fact, I blew my first real account, and my second, and my thrid, before the MONEY MANAGEMENT message got through...capital preservation is the number one priority! Now it's obvious. If I build my account to $500,000 and generate 5% income each month, I'm happy! Now, how to get $500,000 in my account...
IMPORTANCE OF STOP LOSS PLACEMENT IN FOREX TRADING.

Ezekiel, all newbies should take notice of what you are saying. The stop-loss is the ONLY thing you are able to control in a particular trade. You have no control over market direction. You have no control over how far prices will move in your favour. But, you do have total control over how much you might potentially lose if a trade goes bad. ALWAYS USE A STOP-LOSS!

With nearly 80% drawdown there's no way I would risk $50k real money on this strategy. It would be refreshingly more realistic to see competitions that consider drawdown, win/lose ratio, stop-loss risk percentage, and other parameters that look at the overall trading picture and not just the highest return over the shortest period of time.
How do u react, the moment your trades hits stoploss?

It's just another trade...good or bad. A good strategy is only as good as the person trading it, and if hitting a stop-loss makes you uncomfortable then you probably don't understand the strategy you are trading. For instance, if a system is historically running on a 50/50 win/lose ratio, with losses limited to 2% of equity combined with an average 10% gain per winning trade, then hitting a stop-loss is merely a stepping stone towards the next profitable trade. Historically the strategy will make a 50% gain and a 10% loss over every 10 trades. Of course, what we can't see coming ar...
Hmmm... What's up with these systems?

Surprised there is so little response to this thread given that implementing some of these suggestions just might save a newbie from blowing account funds on a dodgy system. Equity will ALWAYS be a better measure of performance than account balance because it reveals those hidden, and often long standing, losing trades.

Not really. You can build a manual system that alerts you when new trade opportunities appear, and you can add a little software that takes care of money management whilst you do other things. I am at the computer only when I need to place a trade.
