This is where I learned how to figure out a system's losing streak and what it's really for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew1L6SLpHgMThe formula in the slide is wrong. Should be: LS = ln( #ofTrades) / -ln( probabilityOfLoss )Knowing this streak gives me the confidence to wait out a drawdown. This will not help if the system does not have any edge at all. It has to be positive even if it's small as a casino's edge. Then just keep on trading the system until the cows come home.

I hope I'm building up to that biosko. I learned how to figure out my losing streak based on current win/loss probability. Now I know how long to wait out a losing streak before changing to yet another system.

I like Oanda too. I've been with them since 2000. But now they incorporated dynamics spreads. This make it really difficult for manual traders. EAs are better to use because you can set a filter to ignore ticks when the spread is too wide.
I want only a safe 4% each month... Which EA?? Thank you

I'm addicted to the charts. The reason why I developed my EA trading my style was so that I can do other things. But I find myself watching the ticks go by when it's past my bedtime.

It's the trader's mindset biosko. When we are successful in the short run, we think it's going forever. I want a long record too but, I rather have a hot streak now than 2 years ago. Look at last 3 month of some of the high return systems with 30 months record that you like, they are flat or going down. If you follow them now, you'll probably lose. So why not follow someone with a short record but going up.

Filters are available but getting to them was a discovery for me. You have to click "Systems" on the banner and not it's drop down. You can also click Systems on the bottom of the page under Community.

Tools outside of you trading platform are distractions and generally just cause more confusion. It is also tedious because you have to track them and somehow incorporate them to your trading strategy. There are built-in indicators that track volatility already such as ATR and STD.
