By definition if the spread if fixed it can't be 15pips...you underwent slippage that's it.

Well such a shame it already happen yesterday night, it had little effect as it was a tiny taper of $10 billion.The effect is simple, it follows the law of offer and demand. The scarcity of something defines its value. If you stop printing billions of green bills, it should start appreciating.

MT4 didn't do well also.I tried on two brokers to do a straddle and got both the buy and sell executed with SLs at around 15pips while one of the trade closed at -68pips. That was an awful slippage, hopefully it was just a test with a micro lot.

Did you simply sell when an EA wanted to buy or had the EA running on an account, say at 0.01 and on the same account you used a trade copier to open an opposite order at the same time the first one opened?I believe it matters a lot as usually EAs have bad money management (losers (in amount) > winners, close early the winners and late the losers). Hence if you simply revert the trades opens you'll get, again, the bad money management.

Agreed, it seems good, but as we all know, M1 scalpers in BT should be taken with extreme caution as there is no slippage/requote in BTs. It also doesn't take into account the delay to execute a trade.

Sweet scalpers BT :-)You should increase to 99% model quality for such EA, but still, it remains a sweet dream ;)I think MDP still BT like this but in real is just awful.

I would step back and wait for more track record if I where you @Thysdrus , moreover the EA with absence of SL should always be avoided or taken with extreme caution.

Dude, 0.23 lots with a 50$ account...you are looking for margin call with such aggressive style.Even for news trading that is not reasonable. You'd better go gambling.

Thanks @ahuruglica for this interesting article!It seems like the machine business is struggling to find a good system, like we do here on a much smaller scale. The holly graal is very hard to find and there's no easy money!The most stable traders I know are manual and have usually underwent strong DD once in a while... Some system here are profitable since a little while but it is a bit depressing to think that what we call "a while" is nothing longer than a couple years on myfxbook!Starting from there, it is hard to think that we can build up an alternative to a retirement plan...

I know for a fact that equities are traded by over 70% by machines (equivalent to our EA except that they trade enormous amounts per nano-seconds).I've seen again and again articles saying that these high frequency traders are taking over the FX market too.
