Positive and Negative Correlated Pairs that lag

I am looking for a correlation pair that lag and are effected by OIL or GOLD. For example USDCAD influenced by Oil, as oil prices increase USDCAD decreases a high percent of the time, hedge the long short against A lagging pair?

That was my question, I believed there was a negative correlation of Oil to USDCAD, then I read a post that indicated that OIL FOLLOWS USDCAD. WHICH IS CORRECT, CAN ANYONE JUST POST ANY BS THEY BELIEVE TO BE TRUE. IF SO, this is a very dangerous site!

I thought the correlation was negative to Oil because Canadian dollar follows Oil, as Oil increases, CAD will increase causing the USD/CAD ratio to drop, therefore short USD/CAD as Oil raises
