Ok, I'm not arguing with the chaps over at MetaQuotes ... are you? 😁http://docs.mql4.com/convert/normalizedouble<i>"The calculated StopLoss and TakeProfit values, as well as open price of pending orders <b>must be normalized</b> with a precision the value of which is stored in the pre-defined variable of Digits."</i>"it's not a good idea to NormalizeDouble at all when calculations are being done."

My friend if you do some binary / floating point arithmetics by hand (on paper), you'd know it's possible that for example, OrderStopLoss returns 1.234500000000 while the result of <i>OrderOpenPrice() - StopLoss * Point</i> would be 1.234500000074857485 something. That's the way floating point numbers work. I wouldn't say it's a bug or a feature, anyway if you use Normalize, you can get what you want without the fuss. But I'm not the sharpest knife in the cupboard ... maybe Edward can give you a better explanation.

You see? Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.Without looking at the ForexFactory link, here's a tip:(it's on the page 4 in the <i>"Teach yourself MQL4 in 21 days"</i> ebook) always use NormalizeDouble.Never worked with floating point numbers before? 😄

Upside could be you come accross people who can contribute to your work. There are some veteran programmers here - to name but one: Edward - chances are he could give you a few tips on how not to flood the server.Do you care to explain this:<i>The potential downside, however, is large, for reasons people who have seen dealing desks being operated physically would know</i>You mean you could get hosed by the broker if they knew your trading?Either way, I'm interested in how dealing desks are being operated ... if you could share this information ... thanks.

That could be a problem - someone without a reliable income even during their losing streaks, will take unnecessary risks and eventually join the account blower's club. Of course performance should be rewarded but you can't expect every month to be a winner. In fact it's quite unusual if a manager does not have at least one flat month a year, not saying it must be negative ...

I have to support Solar in that there's no use in posting economic news or that your VPS was powered down - unless you tell us how your EA handled the situation, what improvements were made, whether you came to conclusions etc.Indeed there could be better places for soliloquy ... a (private) blog also offers timestamped entries. You go public - you will get opinions. <i>"Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks"</i>If I saw <b>any kind of progress, any goals set, any steps forward</b>, I'd say w...

The account <i>v11f USD 400</i> looks good. No horrible DDs, nothing extreme, maybe real life spreads could affect adversely the avg. winner, but all in all looks good.Don't worry about broker's servers. You'd get disconnected long before you could mess up anything. But the issue you mentioned could be a good occasion to add some error handling, think about the unthinkable, prepare for what's unlikely but still possible.Do you have a specific goal before you'd go live? What does this mean: <i>"On a related note, the irony here is there is more real mon...

I've read about your accident, good that you got away without some really bad injury. I think you should consider legal action - the TV channels are full of those ads - if it wasn't your fault, you could get a compensation, and, the best part is, no win - no fee so it won't cost you anything.I can't ease your bodily pains, may I suggest massage and spa treatment. Water really helps.Hope these 80s tunes will cheer you up a little anyway 😁http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz7ifClpT4ghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W--Zymygeoo

I haven't figured myself, Ethan told me how it works 😁 Anyway the new Add Account page seems much simpler.Hmm, a Samaritan?<i>Samaritans (until 2002 known as The Samaritans) is a registered charity aimed at providing emotional support to anyone in distress or at risk of suicide</i>Not bad, not bad. Anyone in distress here? Anything you want to get off your chest, Chikot? I know what you did last summer ... 😁

Hmm, Norhaidi, I see you're a veteran in this forex world. I agree, adding an MT4 account is not too intuitive. So in the Metatrader publisher, you set ftp.myfxbook.com:21 as FTP server. As username, you must use your myfxbook account number (not your MT4 broker account number). You find this number somewhere right side of your myfxbook Settings page, I imagine it will be a number bigger than 100.000 because there are more than 100.000 accounts on myfxbook now! Keep looking. 😁And as FTP password in MT4, you must feed in your myfxbook site password... the one you enter when you logi...

Welcome, top1trader. Good to see you're "there". Do you know that this site allows you to upload your system and show your equity curve too? Excellent for money managers. This way you can not only amaze someone whose acc. you're trading, but amaze us all. Sounds good? How do you handle pressure by the way? I hear some traders have a plush whip, which they crack when they're in the s...s...sauce. Others don't sit down until SL is at BE. Another one consumes massive amounts of chocolate during the session. I for one prefer playing cool music ... cool like Coolio, haha, y...

Regarding the couple of months "hole" in the history: Victor was (is?) trading with Oanda but he uploaded another account when that Oanda history update change took place end of January.I happen to have a saved PDF copy of his old, Oanda history on another computer and I remember the hole was there too, I even discussed it with the staff and they confirmed that they had the hole in the input data. Which means there was no trading activity recorded for that period.I don't have access to my old backups now so I can't show you his Oanda history PDF but I'm 99 % sure I seen t...

Yes Wayne, it's a good idea. If you'd put it in the "Suggestion Box", I'd give it a "yes".We could also have a <b>Margin call counter</b> - every time a user hides or deletes a previously public account, their personal counter would go up. I'm wondering how the serial account blower toplist would look like ... hmmm ... let me see the candidates ... 😁 OK I was only joking of course.<quote=SunnyDays>Guys, can we start a campaign for fxbook to not allow brokers to be hidden? Anyone with me on this one?</quote>

It also sux big time to vote 5 stars for your own thread. If a fairly new system has 5.0 rating out of 1 vote it's evident that the manager voted himself 😁What's happening to the RealManagers biz, Ben? And PipCity? Company names are like underwear, you're changing them quite often ... Not to mention your locations ... first it was Nigeria, then ZA, now UK ... a proper migratory bird, you are ...

Yeah, a 10 year plan looks better .. but you still need a lot more than determination and focus ...You need a solid source of income to pay the bills while you're trying to double your money year after year ... and you need luck to have 10 winning years in a row ... in fact you need a lot of luck for that ... you need to be the luckiest person on earth.Speaking probabilistically, a three legged hippopotamus has better chances of winning the Epsom derby than anyone making 100% year after year.

I swear to God I've recently read about a "former bank trader" who shared his manual system here. Too lazy to start sievin thru the posts. You could've saved us all some time Sean if you tell the whole story. Why did that other chap call you Sean anyway? I don't see "Sean" anywhere in your profile or here in the thread.Ah, nevermind. Lenka's second album just came out,it's fuckin genius. Don't miss it. She's my astro twin by the way. Not that you'd care LOL.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW8rg6XeP3U
