Let me provide some insight into this, and I’ll do it by providing a simple example:Let’s say you have two open trades, one is +120 pips, and the second is -100 pips. Overall your net equity increases by +20 pips. Then let’s say you close the positive trade, locking in that profit, leaving an open trade of -100 pips still active. The EA creates high and low markers and only trades if it is outside of that boundary (higher than the high marker and lower than the low marker). During these months the price never reached outside the boundary, so no additional trades were opened. On closer examination, there are two trades opened in Apr 2010 in which the price did reach outside the boundary.If you would like to see the EA in action to understand this concept, there is a screencast video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw-VwI92m8I.
