Absolutely, I totally agree, this is a very very good way to judge how reliable systems are and if they are actually applying the strategy they boast.

you mean SnapTradeFX? It's not for sale...it's been recommended to me not to sell stuff that actually works, so I was asking for advice to select a good PAMM account to run it on for others....sorry, send me a message if you want more info :)

As kind of expected the balance was indeed a bit too low for a standard account. But AlpariFS isn't actually live yet anyway so we've got plenty of time.

With over 3000 transactions, more than 300% profits this seems to be quite the succesfull experiment. It'll be included in my PAMM accounts for brokers that allow hedging.

Not the greatest start with LiteForex...same settings on AlpariFS seem to do better intially. I'll do some minor adjustments to see if it helps.

Thanks, they do look pretty good!I enquired and they said a PAMM account needs 50k in it within 3-4 weeks after opening though, I'm just starting out...not that rich, I'll save them for the future ;-)

Hi fellow traders!I was wondering as to your experiences with brokers offering PAMM accounts.I'm trying to decide on a broker to go with, with the following requirements:- STP/ECN, no market makers- as low as possible spreads (commission is fine)- <15% requotes during high volatility (I both scalp and trade long term)- options for sharing managed account profits with whoever introduced them to me (like the partner thing alpari NZ has)- in good standing (ie: no crap on FPA or other serious dodgyness)Looking forward to hear your advice/experiences.

Yep, multiple timeframes works very well. I like applying Ichimoku as well, when they agree over various timeframes it increases confidence. Ranging is of course always easier, you never know when a breakout appears and if your stoploss isn't close enough your losses could outrun your profits easily, psychologically I always feel like extending the stoploss, but that usually just ends up in more loss ;P Good reason to automate at least parts of your trading if you're like me and become too influenced by the psychological factors.

Launched with SnapTradeFX v103. Will be updated to v104. The starting balance is a bit low for a standard account, but perhaps it will provide interesting evidence to support the equity > balance philosophy.Also, to be transparant: equity right now is not realistic because AlpariFS doubled my deposit with a 200 euro credit, which shows up in equity but not in balance.

Well spotted! If it hadn't retraced it would have stopped out at -15$, causing a loss. I've been trying to find a decent balance between taking profits and stopping out, I've found that these work best when you calculate them seperately per pair. For now I'm doing this through optimization with overlapping backtests (5x random periods of about 4 years 99% tick data) then using SPSS. This works but is quite a chore! I'm working on doing this dynamically while trading so the system decides it's own stoploss based on x previous candles on x timeframe, I want to try and tak...

This account was running SnapTradeFX v101 and Blessing with the L27 setfiles. It's in a slight drawdown, so as per today I'm terminating all positions opened by Blessing and letting SnapTrade continue trading. Balance is now 125.41 EUR, EQ: 137.64 EUR

Hmm, over 50.000$ I guess. I started this as a student, which pretty much means no risk capital at all :) Done now, but I had to buy a car first...etc etc, you know how it goes. Slowly feeding cash into the system on a monthly basis now though.
