South Korea Has $6.66 Billion Trade Surplus

(RTTNews) - South Korea posted a merchandise trade surplus of $6.66 billion in September, the Customs Office said on Tuesday.

That exceeded expectations for a surplus of $5 billion and was up from $3.77 billion in August.

Exports climbed 7.5 percent on year, beating forecasts for an increase of 7.0 percent following the 11.2 percent jump in the previous month.

Imports rose an annual 2.2 percent versus expectations for a gain of 4.0 percent after rising 6.0 percent a month earlier.
