I notice that some of your trades don't have stop losses and the lot sizes are different. So a couple of questions before I contemplate opening an account.Do all trades actually have an exit strategy ( for both losing and winning trades )Are you using Martingale or some related staking?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/mt4dukabridge/Dukascopy use their own platform called Jforex. You can write robots for it but I can't be bothered learning the platform as well as MT4 as they are supposed to be bringing out MT4 themselves - although the beta has been going on for nearly a year now.Their backtesting is much better than MT4 though as it runs against tick data and allows you to aggregate multiple pairs in a single test.I will just add that the Jforex-MT4 bridge is not perfect. It still needs some watching. For example. If you get an order requoted in MT4 it will still have bee...

I don't manual trade on MT4. If I do manual trade, I trade on Dukascopy.I use MT4 only for EA trading and bridging trades across to Dukascopy. However I believe - I'm sure one of the manual traders will help out here - that if the broker can't fulfill your order then they put you back to the order entry box and you can modify if required and resubmit.I have on occasion manually traded on MT4 and when I did I tend to use an EA that manages my orders. i.e. adds in stop losses, targets and handles the trailing stops.I also have an EA I wrote that allows trades, stop losses and take pro...

Nothing in live trading is 100% reliable. Manual trading is more reliable as you are there to keep mashing the buttons and I'm sure the cursing and swearing helps but in my experience EA's will always fail to carry out their duly appointed task at some point.

I didn't even get on to rapid movements in the market where you don't get filled at the price you wanted or don't get filled full stop - which is also a good killer of Martingale systems - so thanks for bringing those up 😄Liquidity, spread and what I like to call pip velocity can all have an impact on any aspect of a trade, whether your order gets filled and at what price.

Demo testing only goes so far. It tells you if the logic of the system works. It isn't until you put a system on to a live account that you get a real result. I've seen demo systems that survived the exact same period that a live account blew up in as demo accounts don't have to worry about petty little problems like liquidity.

If they put this forward as the premise for the business then that would be fair enough, however this is what they claim to be:"What is ZuluTrade ?ZuluTrade bridged the gap between valuable information in money markets and trade execution, by converting the advice of professional and talented traders globally to an executed trade rapidly and automatically in your account (from supported brokers)There was a time when trading was a headache. Not anymore! You don't have to study or monitor the market to make a good pick, because hundreds of industry well-known experts from all over the w...

I currently provide signals with Tradency. First of all they test your system for 30 days and manually review it to see if the system works okay before they release you on the unsuspecting public. They are very prompt and professional in their service. They recently set up a new system to try and address some of the problems they were having with some of their providers, such as too large stops and too many open positions at once. These changes should remove some of the more dubious trading practices on there. All that being said, I have had one subscriber complain about orders not being closed ...

I started out providing my signals on ZuluTrade. One of the things that is scary about them is that anybody can sign up and provide signals, nobody tests their systems first. So there are all sorts of terrible practices going on there. Providers just open up a massive demo account and then leave trades open until they turn into a profit. Applied to real accounts these trades end up wiping your account. They are also not 100% reliable. I had a friend trading my signals who did not get some stop losses placed. One of my trades cost his account 16% of his balance when he was only risking 1% per tr...

I'm not so sure, the trading profile is different. Dominic's EA tended to win only small amounts. This EA wins and loses larger pip sizes. Also, offering managed accounts isn't Dominic's style. However, we do need to keep our vigilance up as I'm sure Dominic will be back under some guise or other.

Yep, that's what I read as well. I'd love a method of a guaranteed sum every month from Forex but unfortunately I just don't think it's that easy. The best thing you can do, if you are looking for an income from Forex is to ensure that you have a cash surplus to get you through the losing months.

Yes, Alpari feed their demo system with their Pro account feed. Which you only get if you open a Pro account live.

This install of MT4 seems to have irreversibly crashed on my vps. I can't get it to restart at all.Fortunately I'm in the process of setting up an Alpari demo ( good old Alpari ) using new optimised settings and the latest version of Behemoth which I should have running for the start of the new month.Trading so far has been okay with this. I can see from watching it trade that it has the potential to match to some degree the promise of the backtesting but it does need more time to prove itself. This week I've been writing various checks into the code to test if the interpolation of...

Yep, some people like backtests some like live trading, some a little of both.Backtests tell me what a system might achieve. Trading tells me if the system is achieving it.If things like % of successful trade and average win/average loss measure up between the two then you can be fairly happy that the backtest is reasonably accurate and at the end of the day a backtest tells me if a strategy has longevity - i.e. that it has coped through the various market conditions of the previous years.

I'm not questioning the results - which do look good - and your risk/reward ratio for a scalper is nice. All I asked is whether the backtests were generated during the London session or the Asian session? If they were generated during the London session then I'd like to see some backtests generated during the period the EA actually trades in, if that's possible.
