Test your settings over a longer period and let us know the results.In general optimising EA's based on short term price data ( a few months ) is the quickest way to the poor house.

Filter systems by average monthly gain

I know this was suggested a long time ago and I'm sure there must be a thread for it but I couldn't find it.However, now we have changed monthly gain figures to reflect the month on month gain could we include a filter in the systems selection to allow us to select systems over ( or under if you are that way inclined ) a certain percentage figure please?

The problem with short term backtests is that without measurable performance how do you know when your parameters are no longer working? Is it when your drawdown slips to 10% or 20% or do you end up waiting until your drawdown has slipped to 58%?Providing you have a trading plan that covers using this strategy then go ahead and use it but I would make very certain that you have decided in advance at which point you will conclude that it is no longer working. Hi,Over what period was this backtest performed? I just managed to achieve a profit factor of 17.76 with a drawdown of 1.81% using the default settings. It was admittedly only across a certain week. I've run an optimised backtest across the whole ten years for pretty much every set of parameters that make any sense and I haven't seen anywhere near this performance across the full 10 years of history in MT4.

Hi Folks,This EA doesn't work. Wish it did. The spreads are too wide during the times it runs. However this is a good lesson to learn. Never trust a backtest!

Is that based on anything other than the fact that this account is only showing a profit on Wednesday and Thursday?Because if so, these results are skewed by the fact that the lot size changes as the balance changes. A 10 year backtest with 0.1 lots fixed shows that all days are profitable. Not only that but Friday is the most profitable day.

My guess is the post is nothing to do with Forex Growth Bot. He's just posting it on here as he knows the system has a lot of viewers. My guess is if you contact him he will offer to sell you the bot he has. Be careful.

Of course you might want to analyse the backtest data and see how much profit or loss can be attributed to NFP day trading from the EA.

Any comments on this question?The system is currently at 77% equity, so I'm thinking more and more that this has at least some element of martingale and hold and hope to it.

I've just installed the new version and it's completely screwed up the validation of all the other EA's I'm using on accounts.Is anyone else experiencing this problem?The update has fundamentally made my entire VPS unusable now with commercial EA's.

Nice trading, however..The stop losses on some of these trades are so far away that triggering them would practically wipe the account.How does the money management work for this account in terms of percentage risk used to gain a profit?
