Just to show how different brokers can be, I notice your Alpari Demo skipped more than 21 pips between your 7th and 8th sell order today (Feb 24, 12 noon as I type). My FXOpen Demo has 9 sell orders in and all the orders almost match your sell orders except after the 7th sell. This sure gets scary when max orders are in. I think I like someone else's strategy of 100 TP 80 PS. Be interesting to see if GU can retrace before the close into the weekend or after the weekend CheersRyan

Your Hacked demo acct still looking good, Rick. I'm live with my own funds and so far so good since last fall. Yesterday I started a demo acct using the AUD/CAD pair. I saw someone post somewhere (Pipcop?) making a suggestion on trading that pair since it trades quite regularly in a range, and when it trends, it isn't near as bad as when the GBP/USD trends. It's 11:15 am on Dec. 15th, and I see that the open trades combined are in the positive slightly. Again, thinking out loud, another option here would be to close everything out with the small profit and start the basket anew. Reason being is that all 9 max buy orders are open and don't want to chance for the pound to drop any more. I'm just thinking aloud. Doing things like this and what is mentioned in my previous post can possibly help ensure no major DD or wipeouts.RegardsRyan

Seeing that all 9 buy orders are in at the moment I am typing (Dec.15 1 am NY time), I'm thinking if this is my live acct, I would either lower pip booster to 1.65 or maybe even 1.6, and increase max orders to 11 or 12. Or leave everything as you have it, but if G/U continues to fall, just close the whole basket when your loss is at about $2k. That way, your'e still up pretty good and you start the EA from where you closed, and avoid a possible complete wipe out. Just thinking out loud as I watch this demo. I appreciate you doing this Rick and enjoy watching the results it's produc...

I agree with Hubertus88... don't throw FH out the window just b/c of the two Primus accts going bad. Your Alpari demo has been doing great. My own demo has been doing great since August. My live acct wasn't great only b/c I had $3k, when $5k is needed minimum. Besides, the strategy to FH is to take profits every month, and if one can at least get their acct doubled in 3-4 months time, then it's risk free after that. But mainly just take profits out every month. If your acct blows, hopefully after your principle doubles, then who cares. Start over, right? CheersRyan

You may have a good idea, but I think I will stick to one broker for now. Only because I don't want to be bogged down with keeping track of multiple trading accounts , plus I don't want to spend the extra cost for extra copies of FH. If the account grows big enough then, I will consider another account. Regards... Ryan

To follow up to my previous post, my thinking would be to allow up to 11 or 12 max buy/sell positions, and trade with less. As I mentioned before, instead of trading .04 lots on $20k, I will trade .03 or maybe even .02 lots. I can see that with 9 max positions, sometimes the G/U can move quite far without a decent re-trace. I'm actually quite surprised how long your Alpari Demo has lasted without any big DD problems. One would think that since you started in May that there would have been a few times that G/U moved well beyond 9 max positions (buy or sell).Ryan

hi Rick... wow, what a difference btwn the ECN and Spread and your Variable demos. Interesting that the variable is in good shape, but the other two are in serious DD. I'm quite surprised that the other two didn't at least get 35 pips re-trace from the 1.58 area. Spread must be the key, but the Variable spread is what really gets me. One would think ECN would be better because of the lower spread. But I see the Alpari demo is still rocking it for you. Too bad that isn't real $!!! lolMy plan is to put in $20k soon. I have $10k already. I'm sticking with Pepperstone for a number ...

Yea! Got a nice retrace overnight and was able to get out of my DD as noted in a previous post a couple of days ago. It's a good thing that I added more funds when I did or else it would have taken me out. I can't emphasize enough along with Rick that $5k should be the minimum one should start with trading FH trading at .01.Cheers!Ryan

@ Deathlord: Keep us posted on Instaforex. I did check their site out and asked some questions with their CS and they were prompt at answering me. I'd be curious to see if they will make a good candidate with FH. I will try Primus Variable Spread and see if I have any issues. I checked out Go Markets. They allow 500:1 leverage up to $10k. It drops to 400:1 from $10k to $25k, after which it drops to $300:1. It continues to drop as the account grows, so I'm not interested in this as I want to eventually put about $20k in. I'm going to try Plimus Variable spread account, not ECN, and see how it does. Demo means nothing to me so I will start live once I can get myself out of the DD I'm currently in. I need price to reach 1.5872 on GU ;o)Ryan

Hi Rick.... Thanks for the tip on Primus. I knew about Instaforex having red flags. I'll check with GO Markets. I wonder if they will allow for 500:1 leverage no matter the amount of funds in the account? I shall inquire.Re: "allowTrending" parameter set to true, what is the stop loss number of pips you input for all to close out? Utilizing this sounds like it would be a good idea. Yes you take a hit, but FH would recover that in no time. Ryan

Hi Hubertus88... No overtrading here. Using .01 lot only. No other trades using up margin. Just FH only. I do have 400:1 instead of 500:1, so that does make some difference, but I can assure that $3k is not enough unless trading on micro acct. I do get rebates thru Cashback with Pepperstone. That's why Plimus is next in line for me to use b/c of the rebates and they offer 500:1RegardsRyan

Hey Rick,So for the last couple of months, I've been using recommended settings by FH developer: Pipstart: 31, TP 45, Booster 1.68, Max Sell/Buy 9. I've been trading only G/U. This last 2 days of decline (Nov.14-16) have taken me in on all 9 buy trades. Last night, I deposited more funds into my acct (Pepperstone Razor 400:1) as I knew the $3k I had in there would not be enough to handle another 100 pip drawdown. Sure enough it's dropped more today and had I not added another $2k, I would have lost. Now, I sit with 9 buy trades and a huge DD. I can only hope for a nice retrace back...

I'm very interested in this Mouse Trap EA. I like the idea of reversing a scalping EA. There's so many out there that gets killed in the long run due to the horrible risk:reward ratio. I always said if one could reverse the trading strategy so that the risk:reward was favorable, yes there would be a lot more losers, but the few winners would be big enough to make you profit in the long run. Can you tell me how I can find this EA? or is this your own? I would love to demo and try it myself.Regards,Ryan
