I just been at this long enough to know how to spot trouble. And a 11% + equity swing in a few hours in a catatonic market is trouble.

The first sign of trouble is the speed of the NAV change. Doesn't matter if positive or negative. You are hopelessly over leveraged at best.

Well it's not that. This last round of writing we did for the API would work much better on a stock market. So I says to my backer, why not take it to a stock market. He says, and play a rigged market ? No interest at all.....So now you have a market where something like 80% of the market is the HFT guys slugging it out to see who can steal your money by exploiting information that should be confidential. Well, if the fat tail doesn't get you the risk will. The speed of those equity changes is waaaaaaaay to be big to be sustainable.From -$165 to +$17 in half a session. Something like a 14% equity swing in a quiet market in a few hours. Doomed...

And you know what? I'm starting to think the funds all run fat tail systems. That's why they can only get to 17%-20% per annum. No one's solved this problem except for the HFT guys. And they're counting cards really, just a question of time before they get banned from the game.

Got to differentiate here mate. API one thing. Old MT code, another thing. Get it ? Can't read what you want, got to read what I write. I actually did think I could leave this thing running. But the CHF's caused me hassles. I can leave this running if I try for 20% to 30% a year on a bigger amount, it will work. I.o.w's I divide trade sizes by 10. But it's not what I want. I want to go to the ATM tonight and draw my $500 for the day after a day on the beach.
