Systems and entries don't have much in common.

A system does not determine a entry. A entry is simply the first step of a system.

To me a good entry has momentum. So it goes into profit quickly. I don't really care where the level is and why it is, before I do anything I need to know the thing is moving.

judging by your definition, i understand you don't care where the market is moving, you only need it to move to make some profit? are you using a grid system? because it sure sounds like it 😄.

I been accused of that a few times. I played with them often enough. And learned a lot. Certainly made me think a bit further than trying to plonk a trade down in the right place or try guess the next news...

But I think entries are important. Specifically getting an entry with momentum. And momentum means it's been going in a direction for a while, it's still busy going in that direction and it's quite likely to continue going in that direction.

Which direction and why is irrelevant.

ok, so you're actually describing a trend. so you just keep buying/selling with the trend?

Trends stop. I'll trade ranging markets as well.

Not much I can give you. You'll have to find what works for you.

All I'm saying is you have the MM code now, as part of your grid software. So take out how you open trades on there (if it's random or close to) and then keep it as your back end, so it's always applied to your account.

Then try figure out a better way to open trades. Try get the best possible entry, but if it still doesn't go into profit, no worries, you got the MM handling it.

I'm just saying make sure you have a good reason for doing the trade, as apposed to grid like 'trade every 10 pips'.
